Zoe Ball’s son has vowed to "look after" his grieving mother following the death of her boyfriend Billy Yates.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two’ presenter’s beau was found hanged at his home in Putney, South London, on May 4, and her 16-year-old son – who she has with her previous partner Fatboy Slim, also known as Norman Cook – has taken to social media to pay tribute to Billy and to promise the late ‘Antiques Roadshow’ cameraman he will take care of his parent.
Alongside a picture of crabs crawling across a mesh piece of netting with the dates of Billy’s year of birth and death, which was shared on his Instagram account, he wrote: "I’m sorry we spent so little time together. No one deserves to feel what you felt. I’ll look after her. (sic)."
And the heartfelt post comes shortly after Billy was laid to rest in a private funeral earlier this week.
Zoe – who also has seven-year-old daughter Nelly – took to her photo-sharing site on Monday (23.05.17) to state she’ll "always love" Billy as she wished him his final "goodnight."
Alongside a photograph of Billy on holiday, she wrote: "Goodnight my beautiful Boy. I’ll be loving you always, (sic)" followed by a heart, flower and star emoji.
The tragic news has hit Zoe hard, especially after her split from her long-term partner and DJ last year following almost 20 years together.
A source said recently: "Zoe is overcome with grief. She is completely and utterly devastated. Billy had made her happy again after the most horrendous year when her marriage broke down. This was completely out of the blue.
"She had no feeling that this was coming and is in total shock. As far as we know this occurred at his house in south London and it was friends who raised the alarm. She’s going to need a lot of time to grieve. This just feels so unfair because Zoe had finally found happiness with Billy and had so many exciting plans for their future. It’s devastating. There’s nothing else other than devastation today."
