Zayn Malik is "super" happy.
The 24-year-old singer has assured his fans "everything is under control" in his life, and he’s even started to pack up the party lifestyle and head to bed early in order to make sure he’s well rested and healthy.
When asked if he was happy, healthy, and getting enough sleep, Zayn said: "I am, yeah. Super. I definitely am. I’m going to bed quite early at the minute. I’ve been working in the studio throughout the day and going to bed at a reasonable time, getting up at reasonable times. Eating all my meals. I’ve got a gym at the house, so I’ve starting doing a bit of training. My fans can rest assured everything is under control."
The former One Direction star – who recently released the single ‘Dusk Till Dawn’ featuring Sia, which is expected to appear on his upcoming second studio album – isn’t completely free of unhealthy habits though, as he admits he doesn’t know when he’ll quit smoking.
Asked when he thinks the day might be, he said: "I don’t know. I can’t give an answer to that because it would probably be a lie. We’ll just say ‘soon.’"
The ‘Pillowtalk’ hitmaker – who is in a relationship with model Gigi Hadid – understands that his willingness to talk openly about his battle with anxiety can lead fans to worry about his health, but has insisted he’s "all good" and "happy" where he is at the moment.
He told Fader magazine: "I feel like that’s why they always check, ‘Is he OK? Is he happy?’ Yeah, I’m happy. There’s certain times that we like to take creative source from deep moments where I look for music, but that’s not necessarily how I’m feeling 24 hours a day. I’m all good. I’m chilling."
