Zayn Malik and Snakehips drop new single Cruel

Zayn Malik has released a new single called ‘Cruel’ with Snakehips.
The 23-year-old singer has teamed up with Ivor Novello Award-winning duo Snakehips – comprised of Oliver Lee and James Carter – for the R&B tune, which features the former One Direction stars’ soulful summery vocals over Snakehips flawless production. The track, which was released at midnight on Thursday (14.07.16), features the lyrics "Back where we left off/Watch you take your dress off/I’ve been by myself remembering you/Your body hurts me/Loopin’ ’round like CCTV/In all this bitterness you stay so sweet."
The song is expected to feature on Snakehips debut album, which will also include their collaborations with Tinashe, Chance the rapper and Anderson Paak.
Snakehips won the award for Best Contemporary Song for their song ‘All My Friends’ with Tinashe and Chance the Rapper at this year’s Ivor Novellos and they couldn’t believe they beat Skepta to the prize.
Before they won, they told BANG Showbiz: "Skepta has had an amazing year it’s crazy to be nominated in the same category as him. I am nervous, I think he’ll win."
Meanwhile, Zayn recently admitted that he was told by an alien to quit One Direction in March 2015.
Speaking about his revelation to quit the group, he said: "An alien spoke to me in a dream."
