Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid make red carpet debut as couple at Met Gala

Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid made their red carpet debut as a couple as they attended the 2016 Met Gala.
The ‘Pillowtalk’ hitmaker and the 21-year-old model matched in metallic outfits as they walked the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, perfectly achieving the dress code theme, ‘Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology’.
The former One Direction star opted for a customised Versace suit, featuring metal armour plates around his arms, whilst Gigi chose a dark grey Tommy Hilfiger dress.
Speaking about the outfit earlier in the day on the designer’s Snapchat, she said: "I am so excited to be going with Tommy [Hilfiger] this year. We actually designed my dress during Paris Fashion week in my hotel room. I drew it on a notepad. So I’m really excited to be wearing it tonight."
Elsewhere on the red carpet, power couple Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West raised the style stakes with their matching Balmain outfits.
The mother-of-two showed off her post-baby body in the stunning metallic gown whilst the ‘Only One’ hitmaker opted for a sparkly jacket, which he teamed with ripped denim jeans and blue-coloured contacts.
And it is likely we will be seeing Kim’s look again as she revealed her two-year-old daughter North is keen to have the outfit when she’s older.
Kim told E! News: "[I’m a] blingy, sexy robot. Leaving the house, my daughter was like, ‘Mommy, I need that dress!’ I was like, ‘As soon as I’m home, you can have it … I just need it tonight, then it’s [yours]. You can wear it prom!"
Meanwhile, Madonna bared all on the red carpet, opting for a risqué black lace outfit from Givenchy, adding black KT tape, a product normally used for sports injuries. The 57-year-old singer was accompanied to the event by designer Riccardo Tisci.
