Zachary Quinto will star in ‘Agent 47’.
The ‘Star Trek: Into Darkness’ actor has signed on to join Rupert Friend in 20th Century Fox’s upcoming big screen adaptation of the ‘Hitman’ video games.
Aleksander Bach is on board to direct from a script by Michael Finch and Skip Woods, who penned the original 2007 movie version, Deadline is reporting.
The film, which starred Timothy Olyphant and Olga Kurylenko, wasn’t a critical success, but took an impressive $100 million worldwide in the box office.
It is not yet known what role Quinto will play alongside Friend, who is set to star as the titular bald assassin who gets entrapped in a political conspiracy.
‘Fast & Furious’ actor Paul Walker was originally due to play Agent 47 in the reboot before his tragic death last year, with film’s start date since being postponed and the roles recast.
Chuck Gordon, Alex Young and Adrian Askarieh are producing with Daniel Alter acting as executive producer.
Filming for ‘Agent 47’ kicks off in March after Quinto ends his run in melodrama ‘The Glass Menagerie’ on Broadway.
