Yoko Ono to produce John Lennon love story movie

Yoko Ono is producing a movie that will explore her relationship with John Lennon.
The 83-year-old star, who is the widow of the Beatles icon, is to document the couple’s complex love story and their protests against the war in Vietnam in the as-yet-untitled film.
Yoko will co-produce the movie alongside Josh Bratman and Michael De Luca, who revealed the plot will focus on "ripe and relevant themes of love, courage and activism in the US – with the intention of inspiring today’s youth to stand up for and have a clear vision for the world they want".
The movie will be written by Anthony McCarten, who penned ‘The Theory of Everything’, and Michael admitted to feeling "honoured" at having been given the chance to work on the project.
He said: "I am honoured and privileged to be working with Yoko Ono, Anthony McCarten and Josh Bratman to tell the story of two amazing global icons."
Yoko and John first met in 1966, when the Beatles star was still married to his first wife Cynthia.
But after he divorced Cynthia in August 1968, the iconic couple tied the knot the following March and were married for 11 years until John was murdered in New York City in December 1980.
Prior to his death, John admitted his relationship with Yoko drove a wedge between himself and the other members of the Beatles, Sir Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
He shared: "You can quote Paul, it’s probably in the papers, he said it many times at first he hated Yoko and then he got to like her. But, it’s too late for me. I’m for Yoko.
"Why should she take that kind of s**t from those people? They were writing about her looking miserable in the ‘Let It Be’ film, but you sit through 60 sessions with the most big-headed, up-tight people on earth and see what it’s f**king like."
