X Factor introduces Golden X buzzer

‘The X Factor’ has introduced a new ‘Golden X’ buzzer to the Six Chair Challenge.
The talent show’s toughest stage of the competition – which sees the contestants reduced to six per category and often sees hopefuls put through then replaced by other auditionees – has been given a shake up with a new twist.
Similar to the golden buzzer employed by the judges on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, the button will allow one person in each group to confirm their seat and a place in Judges’ Houses.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: "This year each of our judges has one Guaranteed Safe Seat to give away in this round.
"If the judge likes an act enough and they definitely want to see them at judges houses they’ll press this golden X and give that act a Safe Seat.
"This means the act cannot be swapped out of their chair and they’ll go straight through to Judges’ Houses."
Meanwhile, it has also been revealed which categories the four judges will take charge of this year.
Simon Cowell will mentor the girls, Louis Tomlinson is taking charge of the boys, the Over 30s will be advised by Ayda Field and former Take That star Robbie Williams will be working with the groups.
Robbie, 44, recently admitted he only agreed to join the ‘X Factor’ panel if his wife Ayda, 39, was with him.
He said: "Ayda is my rock. She has looked after me through thick and thin, and absolutely every career move I’ve made over the last 12 years has been OK’d by my wife. Ayda’s a member of the general public too, and the general public usually get it right. Ayda does know about music but nobody has a formula for what’s going to make a pop star. If we got anybody from the street then their opinion would be just as valid too."
