Winona Ryder mothers her Stranger Things co-stars

Winona Ryder feels like a mother to her young ‘Stranger Things’ co-stars.
The 44-year-old actress has no kids herself so found it "strange" to quickly develop a strong maternal bond with Noah Scnapp and Charlie Heaton – who play her on-screen offspring – and would have done anything for them.
She said: "Honestly, I felt like Noah and Charlie were my kids.
"It was a bit alarming – it happened in an instant, almost like when my niece and nephew were born.
"It was like for the first time in my life I understood how you would jump in front of a bus for this little baby that you don’t even know yet.
"I did feel Charlie helped me a great deal with the emotion. He’s a tremendous actor.
"I also really bonded with Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven. It was great."
Winona didn’t have much advice for the young actors, and thinks there is more that she could learn from them.
She told heat magazine: "These kids are so incredible and special and talented, and they all love doing what they do.
"The only thing I could sort of say to them is that getting to do the work is the reward, that life is short and you have to enjoy what you do – and we really, truly did.
"The attention and love we’re getting right now is so great, and I want everybody to savour it, but also to remember that it’s about the work itself.
"But really, I would feel presumptuous giving them any advice, because they’re already so amazing. I need advice from them actually."
