Will Young almost "poisoned" Mary Berry when he competed on ‘The Great Sport Relief Bake Off’.
The 37-year-old singer is set to appear on the show later this month but has admitted his muffin-making skills aren’t up to scratch as he almost killed the head judge, 80, with his food.
Speaking to Radio 2’s Jo Whiley, he said: "I will just tell you, I am the worst baker you have ever seen. I almost poisoned Mary Berry… you’ll have to wait and find out.
"I could have been thrown in the Tower Of London for that. I didn’t mean to do it. [She didn’t have to go to the doctor’s] because it was all fine. And that’s what my lawyer’s said.
"It was brilliant though and I did get a little taste for baking but perhaps under a very watchful eye."
Despite his lethal mishap in the kitchen, the former ‘Pop Idol’ winner still could have clawed his way to the top and nabbed the Star Baker crown if he’d beaten his fellow contestants Alison Steadman, Ade Edmondson and Morgana Robinson.
However, Will remained tight-lipped on the outcome of his heat and has teased fans will need to tune in to see what occurred when they whipped out their aprons and headed into the bakery tent.
Will is set to appear on ‘The Great Sport Relief Bake Off’ on February 24 on BBC One.
