Will Smith learned from daughter’s head shave

Will Smith learned to be a better father after his daughter shaved her head.
The ‘Men in Black’ star recalled how singer Willow, now 16, had expressed her desire to come home but he insisted she continue with her tour, so in protest she chopped off all her hair.
And when Will – who, along with Willow, has son Jaden, 19, with wife Jada Pinkett Smith, and son Trey, 24, with first wife Sheree Zampino – saw what the ‘Whip My Hair’ singer had done, he vowed to pay more attention to his daughter’s emotions and not push her so hard in the future.
Speaking in Jay-Z’s new ‘Footnotes of Adnis’ video on Tidal, he recalled: "We came downstairs and she had shaved her head bald. She shaved her head bald in the middle of her ‘Whip My Hair’ tour. I was like, ‘Oh, s**t.’
"I’m looking at that girl and I’m like, ‘Got it. I understand. You will not have this trouble out of me ever again. Let’s go, baby. We can go.’
"For me, it was that soldier that was pushing and wasn’t paying any attention whatsoever to what was going on emotionally with this beautiful little creature in front of me. That was the first part of the collapsing of my father’s suit that I was wearing that wasn’t mine."
Willow previously admitted that her parents had inspired her to want to change the world.
She said: "They always give back what people give to them. And sometimes they keep giving and giving and giving. And some people don’t feel like they need to give anything back because it’s like, ‘Oh, if you’re famous, you can just keep giving, and it doesn’t matter.’"
The ’21st Century Girl’ singer continued: "It’s not just about money. It’s not just about giving people gifts or whatever. What my parents have given to me is not anything that has to do with money or success or anything that society says people should be focusing on–it’s something spiritual that only certain people can grasp and accept. And that’s how I act and move in the world today."
