Will.i.am thinks Mariah Carey would be a great coach on ‘The Voice’.
The 41-year-old musician-and-entrepreneur has been a judge on the programme since it began in 2012 and was joined on the panel for the final series on BBC One by Ricky Wilson, Paloma Faith and Boy George.
The pop star search show is now moving to ITV and the Black Eyed Peas band member is certain Mariah would be a great addition to the programme, but he’s not sure if his one-time close friend and former ‘X Factor’ expert Cheryl would make the switch.
In an interview with The Times newspaper, he was asked whether he thought Cheryl would suit the ‘The Voice’.
To which he replied: "Cheryl? I don’t even know if she’d do it."
When prompted to say who he thought would be good on the show, he replied: "Mariah Carey!"
Will.i.am is currently not stating either way as to whether or not he is going to continue on ‘The Voice’ now it has switched broadcaster, but insists he loves the show.
He said: "I love ‘The Voice’, I really do. I love shedding light on the kids."
Other names in the frame to join the panel are former coaches Rita Ora, Tom Jones, Kylie Minogue and Jessie J.
Rita Ora was judge on ‘The Voice’ in 2015 before jumping ship to be a judge on ‘The X Factor’ alongside Simon Cowell, a role she has now quit paving the way for her snap up her old swivel seat.
