Vin Diesel hopes Paul Walker would be "proud" of ‘Fast and Furious 8’.
The 48-year-old actor has paid tribute to his late friend – who played former police officer Brian O’Conner in the series until his death in a fiery car crash in November 2013 – during a break from filming the next installment of the action franchise.
Sharing an old picture of himself and Paul being interviewed, he wrote on Instagram: "Many of the crew members who have worked on several of the past Fast films are here again to help us make something special.
"One of them at the end of the week came up to me and said wow what we are capturing on film is excellent… And then looked at me and said Paul would be proud. #wemakethemwithourhearts.(sic)"
Vin previously admitted he "feels blessed" to be able to talk about his beloved friend and share memories of their time together.
He said: "I feel blessed that I’m able to carry on and talk about how wonderful a person he was and how special a person he was.
"He’s really the best of us, he was that selfless and he was such an important figure in my life."
Vin also revealed that he named his third child Pauline when she was born in March 2015 because Paul gave him some great advice when his partner Paloma Jiménez was expecting their first baby, daughter Hania, now eight.
The actor – who also has son Vincent, five, recalled: "I can remember just like yesterday he said that to me, "A lot of tough guys will tell you to wait in the hallway, don’t go in the delivery room,"
"[He said] "But Vin, go into that delivery room, be present and cut that umbilical cord and it will be the best day of your life."’
"And so I did that and it was the best day of my life and so six months ago when I was blessed to be in that same situation, I couldn’t help but to remember Paul and his advice.
