‘Victoria’ writer Daisy Goodman has teased viewers that there are some "steamy scenes" coming in the period drama – a revelation that comes after reports main stars Jenna Coleman and Tom Hughes are dating.
The screenwriter and historian opened up about what viewers can expect in future episodes of the 19th Century drama which focuses on Queen Victoria’s passionate relationship with Prince Albert.
In an interview with Express.co.uk, Daisy hinted that things were going to get hot and heavy on screen.
She said: "Well it depends what you mean by steamy, we’ve got a sauna scene, haven’t we?"
Former ‘Doctor Who’ actress Jenna, 30, plays the role of the monarch who inherits the throne at the age of 18. And the latest episode saw her fall for the dashing Prince Albert, played by Tom, 30.
Viewers watched as Queen Victoria and Prince Albert tied the knot and consummate their marriage following a ‘Pride and Prejudice’-esque courtship.
And now it’s expected that things will really heat up between the pair on the ITV programme.
Speaking after a recent screening of episodes four and five, she teased: "How many more love scenes can you have? How romantic were those two episodes? Need I say more?"
And given that Queen Victoria and Prince Albert went on to have nine children, viewers could expect to see more racy scenes.
In previous interviews Daisy, who penned the eight-part series, had described the royal duo as a "very sexy couple" – apparently the Prince even had a button beside his bed to lock the door, should they get intimate.
And the Queen’s diaries even featured an entry where she spoke about her husband in a pair of skin-tight britches without anything underneath.
Daisy has revealed that she is "quietly confident" that ‘Victoria’ will be recommissioned for a second series, following positive reviews.
The show is yet to be broadcast in America but when it does, it’s expected to have longer episodes and propel Jenna to further stardom.
‘Victoria’ continues on ITV on Sundays at 9pm.
