Victoria Beckham happiest in America

Victoria Beckham was happiest when she lived in the US.

The singer-turned-fashion-designer and her family moved to California when her husband David went to play for soccer team LA Galaxy in 2007 and she found it the ideal place to grow her business.

She told Allure magazine: "Living in America for six years was the happiest I think I’ve ever been. It was much more accepting for a woman to have a career, as well as a man. And I loved it."

Victoria – who has children Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 11, Cruz, eight, and two-year-old daughter Harper with David – says they are both supportive of each other’s work and have a great home life.

She added: "David is the most wonderful man I have ever met. He’s a fantastic father. He’s incredibly talented, a wonderful husband. I supported him for many years, and he’s proud of me. He supports me. We’re very equal at home."

Victoria was a star in her own right as a member of girl group Spice Girls when she met David, and although it may have taken a long time to make the transition into fashion, after much hard work it has paid off.

She added: "I was never a natural. I got there in the end because I did believe that if you work hard enough, then you can achieve a lot."
