Vicky Pattison’s ‘Ex On The Beach: Body SOS’ has reportedly been axed.
The bootcamp weight loss show – which saw 16 contestants ditch their kebabs in favour of abs in the hope of being beach body ready for summer – has reportedly been dumped by MTV after just one series because it failed to pull in viewers.
Charlie King – who was a trainer on the series – told The Sun newspaper: "I really enjoyed doing that show. I’m sad that it didn’t come back for a second series, to be honest. The concept was really good. Personally, I really enjoyed helping the individuals who had low self-esteem, didn’t really understand exercise, diet and lifestyle choices. For me it was a great opportunity, too. People have followed my journey in the past few years since I was on ‘TOWIE’ — and how I’ve transformed myself and understood my mental health, as well as my physical wellbeing. So I felt like I was the perfect candidate to be helping others in that show. I was really proud of it but, unfortunately, we didn’t come back this year for some reason."
The lack of viewers may have had something to do with the fact that barely any of the contestants lost any weight – despite being put on a strict diet and fitness programme – after a month of hard work at the retreat.
One unhappy contestant was very disappointed that she hadn’t lost any weight, while another star said he just went from "noodle arm to tagliatelle."
However, although it’s believed MTV have pulled the plug on the programme, there’s still room for it to make a return at a later date.
A source close to Vicky explained to the publication: "The show is still being considered by MTV and it may well still make a return."
