Vicky Pattison doesn’t want a "shot gun" wedding.
The former ‘Geordie Shore’ star sparked concern earlier this week when she announced that she and her fiance John Noble – who got engaged last year and were initially planning to wed in July – had decided to postpone their nuptials for a "year or two", but she’s adamant nothing has happened between them and they simply want to enjoy being engaged for a little while longer before they become husband and wife.
Speaking to The Sun Online, the 30-year-old beauty said: "[After saying that] I read a story yesterday that said I was pushing it back two years and I started to panic as that’s not true. I started to panic thinking – everyone’s going to think I’m pregnant!
"I feel sexy when I get called a fiancée. I’ve got me whole life to be a wife. I want to give ‘fiancée’ some love. John is such an amazing man and our relationship is something I’ve searched for for 30 years, it deserves gravity and respect and weight.
"The last thing I want to do is to rush out and have some sort of shotgun wedding just to keep everyone else happy. This is about me and him."
The brunette star was also concerned that people would start pressurising the couple to have a baby once they’d got hitched – and she doesn’t feel ready for that yet.
She explained: "Once we get married the questions will then start to snowball – we’ll start to get asked about kids.
"At the moment we’re travelling and living in our first house together, we are working really hard, we’ve got this incredible life – a wedding just didn’t fit in."
However, although she doesn’t feel now is the right time to become a mother, Vicky is keen to have babies in the future after seeing her friends with their little ones.
She explained recently: "I always said I didn’t want children but being with John has totally changed my mind. We recently made the decision that children are part of our future. I’ve come to realise that life would be quite empty without them."
