Venus Williams’ home has reportedly been burgled

Venus Williams’ home has reportedly been burgled.
The 37-year-old professional tennis player’s Florida mansion was ransacked earlier this year whilst she was competing in the US Open, which took place between August 28 and September 10.
And it has been reported the thieves made off with $400,000 worth of goods when they broke into her property, which is gated and located in the exclusive Palm Beach Gardens area.
The Palm Beach Gardens police department released a report on Thursday (16.11.17), which has been obtained by the New York Post, and it states that an investigation is underway.
The statement also claims the burglary took place near the end of the fourth Grand Slam of 2017 between September 1 and 5.
However, it is not yet known exactly what possessions were stolen from the athlete.
Venus purchased the 10,000 square foot estate, which backs on to a golf course, almost two decades ago.
And the site is known to be the home of other professionals, including her younger sister Serena Williams, 36, who also resides there.
But this was not the only bad news the sporting ace faced this year, as at the time she also lost three sets to Sloane Stephens, and after battling it out for just over two hours Venus – who has won seven Grand Slam singles and 14 Grand Slam Women’s doubles titles throughout her career – missed out on taking this year’s title.
Despite the defeat Venus still went home with a whopping six-figure prize money sum of over $900,000
The California-born star – who is ranked at number five in the WTA singles chart – has yet to comment on the horrific ordeal.
