Vaults haven’t met Buster the Boxer from the John Lewis Christmas advert.
The electronic pop trio – comprised of Blythe Pepino, Barney Freeman and Ben Vella – have put their own spin on Randy Crawford’s 1980 jazz hit ‘One Day I’ll Fly Away’ for department store John Lewis’ 2016 Christmas advert, and haven’t met the dog, which can be seen jumping up and down on a trampoline in the festive campaign.
Asked if they’ve been introduced to Buster, singer Blythe exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Unfortunately not."
And Barney added: "I think he is just too big a star now to be honest."
And quizzed on whether they get John Lewis discount for life, Blythe joked: "Yes we do. If there is anyone from John Lewis listening them yes, definitely."
Meanwhile, the trio previously revealed they’d love to get Randy’s approval of their cover.
Singer Blythe Pepino said: "I don’t know if she has heard it, I haven’t looked that up. But it would be great to get her blessing if she likes it."
The group got to record the track at the world famous Abbey Road Studios in London and bassist Barney says you could feel the spirit of The Beatles, who recorded most of their albums on site and have their own room inside.
Talking about the studio, he said: "It’s an incredible place you can just feel the history. It was a real amazing day.
"The Beatles room is basically untouched so all of the original pianos were in there and you can recognise it from the ‘Let It Be’ video. You really do get the spirit of the band there."
