Una Healy announces debut solo LP

Una Healy is to release her debut solo album ‘The Waiting Game’ in February.
The Saturdays star is thrilled to finally be able to announce her first new music since the girl group’s 2013 LP ‘Living for the Weekend’, which sees the blonde beauty return to her country folk rock music roots.
She said: "Over the past two years I’ve been writing and recording my debut solo album and I’m so excited to finally share it with everyone. I have literally been playing the waiting game! The songs were all written from the heart and I hope people can relate to them. The sound of the album is very true to my roots and is a return to the music I’ve always loved."
Una has worked with a variety of acclaimed songwriters and producers for the record including Amy Wadge, who co-wrote Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’, and Ben Earle from The Shires.
The lead single will be ‘Stay My Love’, which is a collaboration with Sam Palladio from US reality TV series ‘Nashville’, and was co-written by Wadge.
The record drops on February 10 and the single will come out sometime before.
Una has been busy working on her own music since The Saturdays announced they were going on hiatus in March 2015.
Previously describing the record, Una said: "My solo sound will definitely be more organic than The Saturdays … It’s more singer songwriter, me with a guitar singing and writing about my experiences."
Una is not the only member of the girl group launching a solo career.
Mollie King is to release a solo album, while Vanessa White has already released her solo EP ‘Chapter One’ and plans to bring out a full album later this year.
So far, Rochelle Humes and Frankie Bridge have been concentrating on projects away from music.
