Uma Thurman is in talks for ‘American Ultra’.
The 43-year-old actress is in negotiations to join ‘Adventureland’ co-stars Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart in the action comedy which will be helmed by ‘Project X’ director Nima Nourizadeh, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The film follows the story of an "unmotivated stoner" named Mike (Eisenberg) who lives with his girlfriend (Stewart) in a small, sleepy town where their lives take an unexpected turn as he becomes the target of a government operation to wipe him out.
‘Kill Bill’ star, Thurman, will take on the role of a government worker who is furious upon learning that someone wants to kill Mike – who she trained as a sleeper warrior – and she will "fight back like a momma bear protecting her cub".
Anthony Bregman, David Alpert and Britton Rizzio are producing and they’re excited about the project.
Bregman previously said: "American Ultra will be the most fun you can possibly have in a movie theatre without the use of drugs, fireworks, or canola oil."
Filming is expected to begin next month with Kevin Scott Frakes of Palmstar Media Capital and Raj Brinder Singh of Merced Media Partners stepping in as executive producers.
