Tyger Drew Honey wants to do ‘Outnumbered’ for the "rest of his life."
The 20-year-old star recently reprised his role as Jake Brockman in the comedy sitcom for a forthcoming festive special on Boxing Day (26.12.16) and he has admitted he loved shooting scenes with his on-screen family – which includes Hugh Dennis and Claire Skinner – again that he wishes it was a regular feature on television screens.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: "I wish ‘Outnumbered’ was like a soap and we could do it 40 weeks a year and we could do it for the rest of our lives."
Although it’s unlikely bosses will agree to bring back the show, which hasn’t been on screen since the beginning of 2014, Tyger thinks there is room for another special.
He explained to the publication: "It’s possible we will do another series and more likely that we will do another special in the next year or two."
However, Tyger hasn’t always had fond memories of his time on the programme as he was heavily bullied at school when he first landed the hilarious role at the age of nine.
He said: "There was jealously and bullying from boys in my class. I stuck out because my name was Tyger and I was on TV. I would come into class and if I’d only had a few scenes in an episode of ‘Outnumbered’ the night before, they would say, ‘I didn’t see you on TV last night.’ They would try to bring me down a notch. They were not physically abusive but I was mercilessly teased for my part in the show.
"It also didn’t help that my parents both worked in the adult entertainment industry, The other kids int he class knew about it but I would try not to let it get to me. However, I did find it upsetting at times."
