Tyga’s relationship with Kylie Jenner inspires his music

Tyga’s relationship with Kylie Jenner inspires his music.
The 26-year-old rap musician has had an on/off relationship with the 19-year-old reality TV star since 2014 and at the moment they are very much on.
Tyga is currently working on a new album and he admits his heavily scrutinised romance provides him with lyrics for his songs, just as the other people in his life do.
The ‘Ride Out’ rapper – who has three-year-old son King Cairo with his ex-fiancée Blac Chyna, who is now engaged to Kylie’s half-brother Rob Kardashian and is expecting his baby – said: "(The scrutiny) just gives me more subjects to talk about. Basically whatever you put in your music is how you want people to view you. I could be going through something in my life that I might not want to talk about in my music because my music is the way that I escape some of those things. Sometimes I say stuff to relate to people. It just really depends, because you don’t have to be one type of artist and talk about one thing. That’s the freedom and creativity that you have of being an artist, especially with rap. Rap is the number one most influential thing, it’s the only genre that really strikes a chord."
Tyga insists he tries not to take any notice of his critics on social media because he is not reliant on his popularity online to make music.
The songwriter – who also has his own reality TV show ‘Kingin’ with Tyga’ – is mature enough to realise that the internet is not "real life" and that people act completely differently on the web compared to how they would face-to-face.
In an interview with website Harpersbazaar.com, he said: "Online is online. It’s a whole other world. It’s not actually real life. People go on there and talk shit or criticise, but I’ve never been into the internet. I’m not an internet artist, I didn’t get discovered on the internet – I got discovered pushing my mix tapes on the street, walking on foot, going to parties, passing them out. So it doesn’t really get to me like that. I guess with the generation we live in, we just want to be entertained at the end of the day. A lot of artists make themselves accessible, so they feel like every artist should be like that. Some artists shouldn’t be so accessible, to me."
