Sharon Osbourne: No talent left to find on X Factor

Sharon Osbourne says "there is no more talent" to find on 'The X Factor'.
The 61-year-old music manager quit her judging role on the singing competition after guiding Sam Bailey to victory last year, and she claims talent shows have become an oversaturated market, leaving little undiscovered talent out there.
Sharon told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I feel it has been overfished. There is no more talent out there. Any serious musician is not going to go on a show."
The outspoken star previously insisted her reality TV judging days were behind her after serving on the panel of 'The X Factor' for five years - including four series from 2004 to 2007 and again last year - and 'America's Got Talent'.
Sharon blasted the number of sob stories seen on "contrived", "boring" reality shows.
She said: "If one more person stands up in front of me and sings ... I've had it with people singing at me. I have had it with people singing on TV.
"And they've all got something wrong - they have either got one lung, one kidney, or they've all got somebody sick in the hospital."

Dorset locals sworn to secrecy over Broadchurch

Dorset residents have been sworn to secrecy about the new series of 'Broadchurch'.
Locals in the South West of England have been asked to keep quiet about the highly-secretive plot of the ITV crime drama's second series by producers, who are grateful for their discretion on social media.
Screenwriter Chris Chibnall told the Daily Star newspaper: "We're finally able to talk a little about preparations for the next series of Broadchurch and confirm we're coming back to film around West Bay and Clevedon.
"We're all thrilled about returning, especially given how supportive the whole community was last time. And if the community are able to keep our secrets as well as they did then, we'll be ever so grateful."
It was confirmed yesterday (21.05.14) that Marianne Jean-Baptiste, James D'Arcy, Eve Myles and Phoebe Waller-Bridge would be joining the cast alongside main stars Olivia Colman and David Tennant.
Chris enthused: "We're over the moon to have wooed Marianne back from Los Angeles to join us in 'Broadchurch'. She is one of Britain's finest actresses, so it's an honour and a coup for us. It's a role written specifically for her and I would've wept for months if she'd turned us down.
"Luckily she didn't and her character is going to make an indelible impact on the world of 'Broadchurch'."

Maddy Hill surprised by EastEnders reaction

Maddy Hill was surprised by the warm reception to the Carter family in 'EastEnders'.
The actress - who has earned a Best Newcomer nomination for her role as Nancy Carter at the British Soap Awards - admits she prepared for the worst when she joined the BBC One soap last year with Danny Dyer (Mick Carter), Kellie Bright (Linda) and Sam Strike (Johnny), as soap fans notoriously give new characters a hard time.
She recalled: "The producers actually told us that there usually can be a little bit of hostility towards new blood in the soaps, as people like what they know.
"I think there was a little bit of that as in the first week, I saw people online saying, 'Oh, I hate her!' But then things started to get more and more positive.
"The reaction has totally taken us by surprise - we had no idea how they'd be received."
Maddy also hinted that tomboy Nancy will soon be taking centre-stage with a big storyline of her own after supporting her family through their trials and tribulations.
She told Digital Spy: "There are Carter storylines where Nancy has to support the rest of the family coming up sooner, but after that, there'll be a window for Nancy's big storyline."
Quizzed if the storyline will see new secrets about Nancy's past revealed, Maddy added: "What's coming up is more a case of what's going to happen to her, but there aren't any secrets as such."

Philip Glenister ‘scared’ of co-star Bernard Hill

Philip Glenister is "scared" of his co-star Bernard Hill.
The 51-year-old actor - best known for his portrayal of police officer DCI Gene Hunt in 'Life on Mars' - has admitted to feeling intimidated by the 69-year-old actor, who plays his father in new BBC One drama 'From There to Here'.
Bernard was specifically chosen for the part by scriptwriter Peter Bowker to match the macho personalities of Philip and his on-screen brother Steven Mackintosh.
Philip told The Sun newspaper: "Peter Bowker said they had two alpha males with me and Steven. So they needed someone that was going to scare even us. There was only one man for the job - Bernard.
"He certainly scared the life out of the crew when he parked his car on somebody's lawn. It was the first day of the shoot and he insisted on driving to set and he drove straight on to the lawn of his onscreen house."
Fortunately, Philip's nerves were put at ease by his former 'Life on Mars' co-star Liz White - who plays his love interest Joanne in the new show - and he says there is a "chemistry" between the pair.
He explained: "Liz and I worked together on 'Life on Mars' so it was fantastic to be back together.
"She's so easy to work with and it does help that there's a chemistry there."
The three-part series - which follows the aftermath of the 1996 IRA bombing in Manchester - starts tonight (22.05.14) at 9pm on BBC One.

Tom Daley Goes Global has been axed

'Tom Daley Goes Global' will not return for a second series.
The Olympic diver's ITV 2 show sees him backpacking around Thailand and Australia with his best pal Sophie Lee, but after failing to bring in more than 400,000 viewers bosses have reportedly decided to turn down the idea of a second series.
A source revealed: "While Tom is a nice guy, not much happened on the show and it is no surprise that bosses are not wanting to do another series."
However as the 20-year-old star will be preparing for the 2016 Olympic in Brazil next year, it's been suggested that he never intended to do a second series.
An ITV spokesman said: "Tom Daley Goes Global followed a specific period in Tom's life, as he took a break from his diving regime to embark on a gap-year experience and travel the world. As such, it was only ever intended to run for one series.
"But we love working with Tom and having him on the channel."
Meanwhile, due to Tom's Olympic training regime it is also unclear whether the athlete will be returning for a third series of 'Splash!' which saw celebrity contestants attempting to learn how to dive under his guidance.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Tom has a hectic training programmed planned for next year, ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympics in Brazil.
"So it would be impossible to secure time with him to do another edition of Splash!
"But Tom has become a regular face on ITV2, having appeared as a guest on Celebrity Juice, Xtra Factor and Britain's Got More Talent and we expect to do more with him."

Ferne McCann makes Charlie take STI test

Ferne McCann made Charlie Sims have a STI test.
'The Only Way Is Essex' stars have had an on/off relationship on screen but after it was revealed he had slept with over 20 women when they split, she decided to be cautious and ensure he hadn't caught any sexually transmitted infections.
Asked whether she made him get tested, she replied: "Yes! Oh God, definitely!"
After the pair rekindled their romance, Ferne had a fling with Frank Major and admitted there was some "overlap" between her two relationships.
She now regrets her actions and insists it made her realise how much she cares about Charlie.
She explained to Now magazine: "Of all the things I've done in my life, I wish I could erase that. I really regret it. It was a huge mistake but one I had to make to realise how much I loved Charlie."
Although she knows it's not always easy, Ferne and Charlie plan to move forward without dwelling on the past.
She added: "I'm not going to say it's all hunky dory because there are hurdles, but we're leaving the past in the past."

Michelle Keegan’s tears over Corrie exit

Michelle Keegan has cried over leaving 'Coronation Street'.
The actress made the difficult decision to bow out of the ITV soap after six years playing brassy barmaid Tina McIntyre this year, and has secretly been sobbing to her mother about a future without the show.
She said: "I've been living my dream for six-and-a-half years. I've cried and got emotional a few times, with my mum on my own. It's the end of an era. I'll never be able to come back."
The brunette stunner will be watching her last ever scenes from the comfort of her dad's house
Michelle said: "That's where I watched the episode when I was first on, so I'm going to watch the last episode with him. It'll be quite emotional."
The 26-year-old actress' final moments on the soap see Tina meet a grisly end after falling from a balcony during a scuffle with her mystery killer.
Michelle claims the look of sheer terror on her face is completely genuine because she was so afraid of heights.
She explained: "I had a stunt double who fell from the top, then they made me fall on to a crash mat. It was the same level, but there were no barriers and I've never been so scared in all my life because I hate heights. It sounds so easy, but when you're standing on the edge all you instincts say, 'Don't do it!'
"I cried my eyes out - I was such a baby! I got myself into such a panic that my eyes were streaming. The look of terror on my face in that scene is genuine!"
And Michelle revealed her on-screen injuries are so horrific the rest of the 'Corrie' cast struggled to look her in the eye on set.
She told new! magazine: "It's horrible. I've got photos of what I look like in those scenes and my dad found it difficult to look at them. Tina is in a coma and there's pressure on her brain so they have to cut away a bit of skull and she's got a swollen eye.
"It's not nice. I had to walk to the canteen like that at lunchtime. You should have seen people's faces!"

Frank Skinner to miss son’s birthday for Doctor Who role

Frank Skinner will miss his son's second birthday to film 'Doctor Who'.
The comedian, who is a lifelong fan of the BBC sci-fi drama, has landed a cameo appearance in the upcoming eighth series of the show - but fulfilling his dream of appearing in 'Doctor Who' has come at a personal cost.
Speaking on his Absolute Radio show, he said: "I thought about being in 'Doctor Who' about every four-and-a-half minutes years before this happened! However, I'm afraid I've gone deep into 'bad dad' territory, because in order to be in 'Doctor Who', one of the filming days is [son] Buzz's birthday. So I'm having to miss it.
Frank went on to quip that he will pick a new date to celebrate his son's birthday.
He joked: "I'm hoping it will be OK. The plan is to just make another birthday. We could just pick any date we like!"
The 57-year-old star - who also admits he missed his son's first steps because he attended a screening of 'Doctor Who' episode 'Remembrance of the Daleks' - was overjoyed when he was asked to make an appearance in the new series, which marks Peter Capaldi's first as the Time Lord.
He explained: "I was in Nando's when I got the phone call to say that I had got the part. I went outside and there were loads of people around, it was a sunny day ... I'm on the phone and he was telling me that I got the 'Doctor Who' job and I did a football volley mime, a really big one."

Mark Wright keeps killer Corrie secret

Mark Wright has kept 'Coronation Street' favourite Tina McIntyre's killer a secret.
The reality TV star, who is engaged to actress Michelle Keegan, was on set for his fiancée's final scenes - in which Tina plunges to her death after being pushed by a mystery assailant - and is one of the few people who knows the top secret soap spoiler.
Michelle revealed to ITV's 'This Morning': "I know who the killer is. We did film different endings, but the longer version [we filmed] was who did it."
"I haven't said anything to anyone. Does Mark know? Well, he was there when we filmed it. But to be fair, he hasn't told anyone. He's been really good!"
Four suspects will be in the frame for Tina's murder and viewers won't have to wait long to find out who kills her, as their identity will be revealed in next Tuesday's (27.05.14) episode.
The potential murderers include Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne), Carla Barlow (Alison King), Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) and Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis).
Meanwhile, Michelle, 26, is moving to Essex to live with Mark, 27, but she admits they still aren't ready to move in to their new house.
She said: "I've not moved down yet, he keeps saying two weeks, but that was three months ago! It's taking ages for the house to go through - but yes, I am moving down."
