Joey Essex to host The Xtra Factor?

Joey Essex is in talks to host spin-off show 'The Xtra Factor'.
The former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star has reportedly been screen-tested to be one of the presenters on the ITV2 show, which follows 'The X Factor' and kicks off in August, as bosses look at a number of options for new stars to front the programme.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "Joey has been a big hit for ITV2 and has a lot of fans out there.
"'The Xtra Factor' is all about being big and brash, and having Joey on board would bring a lot of attention.
"But it is an hour-long show that goes live for the performance shows on Saturday and Sundays. Could he handle that?"
Producers are said to be looking at new hosts, including pairing a male presenter with a female star, or having a single female presenter, which could be current host Caroline Flack.
It is thought Matt Richardson, who worked with Caroline on the show last year, will not be returning to 'The Xtra Factor' and bosses have been looking at potential replacements, including Radio 1 DJ Sarah-Jane Crawford and MTV host Laura Whitmore.
Meanwhile, Simon Cowell is said to be close to finalising the judging panel for this year's show, which is rumoured to include former Spice Girl Mel B, who has been given a week to prove her commitment to 'The X Factor' to secure the job.
Mel would join Simon and Cheryl Cole, who are returning to the show this year, along with regular judge Louis Walsh.
A source said: "She is the front-runner for the fourth judging spot but will only get it if Simon is satisfied it will work."

Leona Lewis wants EastEnders role

Leona Lewis wants a role in 'EastEnders'.
The 'Bleeding Love' songstress recently landed her first movie role in new movie 'Walking on Sunshine' and is eager to continue acting.
Leona thinks she'd be right at home in Walford as she is also from the east end of London - growing up in Hackney.
She told The Sun newspaper: "I love 'EastEnders'. I don't think I'd do anything where I had to be in it for five years, but maybe a cameo role, if I could sing in the cafe or something."
The former 'X Factor' winner previously admitted she was apprehensive to move into acting as she is best known as a singer.
Leona explained to BANG Showbiz: "I was really like, 'I don't know, what if people say she's just trying to get into acting?' My friend was just like, 'It's your life! You should experience as much as possible. Anyone else would jump at the opportunity to do something like this.' So I just wanted to do it.
"It's a whole new world, it's a whole different headspace. That's kind of why I wanted to put myself in it. I was scared about doing it at first, but it's good - it's good to feel that fear and do something you've never done before.

Louis Smith, Nadia Comaneci to judge Tumble

Louis Smith and Nadia Comaneci will judge BBC One's 'Tumble'.
The Olympic gymnasts are among the four panellists who will critique the gymnastic skills of 10 celebrities in the new Saturday night primetime show this summer.
Gymnastics legend Nadia will serve as the show's head judge and will be joined by former 'Strictly Come Dancing' winner Louis, former Team GB gymnastics captain Craig Heap and renowned aerial artist Sebastien Stella.
Nadia said: "The celebrities are going to be put through a fitness, gymnastic and acrobatic training regime that's like nothing they'll ever have experienced, and I can't wait to see the results!"
Louis added: "I know how scary it is to be on a live Saturday night entertainment show, so I'll definitely have a bit of empathy with the celebs on that!"
In addition to the judges, 'The One Show' presenter Alex Jones will host the six-part series and Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle will serve as mentor to the 10 celebrities as they learn a number of gymnastic disciplines such as tumbling and double trapeze.
Alex said: "I am thrilled to be hosting this exciting new show which is sure to offer jaw-dropping stunts and a visual spectacle. No-one has told me yet whether I will be required to don a leotard or master the balance beams but I am willing to give it a go."

Coronation Street’s Andrea Beckett is married

'Coronation Street' newcomer Andrea Beckett is secretly married.
The flirtatious brunette, played by Hayley Tamaddon, has worked her way into cab driver Lloyd Mullaney's (Craig Charles) heart since making an appearance on Weatherfield's cobbles six months ago, but a new twist will see her secret husband of 20 years, Neil, come back into the picture next month.
Her cuckolded partner is set to storm into the Rovers Return pub and create a showdown with Andrea's lover.
The comedy reveal on the ITV soap will involve Neil mistakenly thinking Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) is his wife's new lover.
He rages: "Is this really who you've left me for? Are you having some sort of breakdown? We have got a beautiful life together and you want to turn it all in for him?"
An embarrassed Andrea replies: "You are making a fool of both of us."
And the situation only becomes more dramatic when Lloyd arrives and declares: "It's me, I'm the one you want to knock out."
While Lloyd is left heartbroken at Andrea's deception, her good friend Steve is furious.
He rants to his girlfriend Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh): "She's been lying to us all for month. We thought she was Andrea from college, Lloyd's missus, my mate - turns out she was some other sap's wife."

Corrie airs Tina McIntyre death twist

Coronation Street's Rob Donovan hit Tina McIntyre over the head with a metal pipe in a surprise twist last night (28.05.14).
Audiences saw Michelle Keegan's character appear to fall to her death after plunging from a balcony during a scuffle in Tuesday's episode (27.05.14), but in a dark twist, the seedy character attempted to silence Tina once and for all with a weapon.
Although Rob (Marc Baylis) offered to call an ambulance for Tina after her fall, the brassy barmaid - who survived the plunge - threatened to tell the police that he had deliberately pushed her, which lead to his frenzied attack.
Tina has now been left fighting for her life in hospital, but she tragically dies in next Monday's double bill (02.06.14) as doctors are unable to save her.
Michelle - who is engaged to former 'The Only Way Is Essex' hunk Mark Wright - has bowed out of the ITV soap after six years playing the the stunning soap favourite and she previously revealed she would be watching her last ever scenes from the comfort of her dad's house.
She said: "That's where I watched the episode when I was first on, so I'm going to watch the last episode with him. It'll be quite emotional."

Foxes lands Doctor Who role

Singer Foxes has landed a role in 'Doctor Who'.
The 25-year-old singer - real name Louisa Rose Allen - will make her acting debut in an episode of the upcoming eighth series of the hit BBC sci-fi drama.
The 'Youth' songstress will perform a track on the show and appear in a new adventure starring Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor.
She said: "I can't believe I'm actually going to be in an episode of 'Doctor Who'! Especially as it all came about from a chance meeting. I was playing a gig and got chatting to the show's production team who'd been watching my performance. I was telling them how much I loved 'Doctor Who' and next thing they invited me to be on it. I couldn't think of a better place to make my acting debut than on one of the UK's most iconic shows!"
Executive producer Steven Moffat added: "We are completely thrilled that the amazingly talented Foxes is joining us on board ... well, you'll see. Let's just say, the Doctor is finally catching up on his phone calls."
The new series of 'Doctor Who' - which also feature guest appearances from Frank Skinner and Keeley Hawes - begins on BBC One in August.

Big Brother bosses want clever contestants

'Big Brother' producers have forced this year's contestants to undergo IQ tests.
Show bosses reportedly wanted "very, very clever" housemates who will be able to cope with the gruelling mind games and head-to-head contests they are planning for this year's 'Big Brother: Power Trip' series and are confident they have set the scene for an explosive programme.
Rylan Clark, who fronts spin-off show 'Bit On the Side', said: [The contestants are] ruthless, sly and vindictive.
"This year they're very, very clever and they've all been IQ tested.
"They are the type of people who will do anything to get what they want.
"It'll be a fight to the finish."
Rylan also teased that technology will be allowed in the house for the first time ever, suggesting "heavily monitored" use of websites such as Facebook and Twitter will be permitted as part of the games.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "Technology will be allowed in the house for the first time ever this year.
"There might be some element of social networking, which will obviously come into play with the power-struggle element.
"It'll all be heavily monitored, though."
'Big Brother: Power Trip' begins on June 5 at 9pm on Channel 5.

David Walliams pens book about Simon Cowell’s baby

David Walliams has written a book about Simon Cowell and his son Eric.
The 'Britain's Got Talent' judge has given the media mogul - who welcomed his first child with New York socialite Lauren Silverman in February - 50 copies of the book, titled 'David Walliams Presents Baby Eric'.
Simon, 54, was surprised by the gesture and initially believed it was going to go on sale in shops.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "He [Simon] didn't quite know what to say."
Simon later said: "It is very sweet."
David shared a picture of the book's cover, which depicts Simon holding the baby while his girlfriend Lauren is beside them beaming with pride.
He captioned the picture, posted on his Twitter account, by writing: "This is the cover of the book I wrote especially for @SimonCowell & Lauren's son Eric... (sic)"
A blurb on the back cover reportedly reads: "Simon Cowell was the man who thought he had everything, until the day Baby Eric arrived in his life."
David - who has 12-month-old son Alfred with wife Lara Stone - has written a number of children's books.
He first signed a contract with HarperCollins in 2008 and made his debut with 'The Boy in the Dress', illustrated by Quentin Blake, while his most recent book is titled 'Demon Dentist'.

Mel B to prove she is dedicated to The X Factor

Mel B will have to prove she is devoted to 'The X Factor' before she is named a judge.
The Spice Girls star has reportedly been asked to prove she will be able to dedicate enough time to the job on the ITV talent show before Simon Cowell makes the official announcement that she will complete the line-up of judges, which includes himself, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh.
A source said: "For Mel to get the job she has to prove she can devote enough time to the show and prove her other commitments won't get in the way."
The 38-year-old star is currently on the judging panel of 'America's Got Talent' and 'The Voice Kids' in Australia, and although Simon wants to make the final announcement next week, he won't do so until he has been assured she will put her all into mentoring her acts.
The source told The Sun newspaper: "She is the front-runner for the fourth judging spot but will only get it if Simon is satisfied it will work."
Cheryl and Simon confirmed earlier this year that they would be returning to the show after a four-year hiatus and the media mogul is said to be keen to hire Mel for the final seat as her boisterous personality will likely see her clash with her fellow judges,
The source added: "'The X Factor' judging panel is all about the drama and Mel is sure to rub Cheryl up the wrong way, which Simon is really looking forward to."
