Cheryl Cole wants Girls Aloud vs Spice Girls

Cheryl Cole wants a Spice Girls versus Girls Aloud week on 'The X Factor'.
The 30-year-old pop star would love to see a battle of the girl bands during the live shows, pitting her band's back catalogue against fellow judge Mel B's hit songs with the Spice Girls.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "You know what, it's a really good idea. I'm going to put that to the producers and I'm sure we can figure something out."
Cheryl and Mel have both ruled the music charts with their respective groups and sold millions of records.
Girls Aloud had four number one singles, including their debut track 'Sound of the Underground', and earned a BRIT Award for 'The Promise'.
Meanwhile, the Spice Girls are one of the biggest selling bands of all time with 80 million record sales around the world and nine number one singles in the UK.
While viewers may be hoping for a rivalry between Cheryl and Mel, it seems the 'Crazy Stupid Love' singer is eager to avoid any drama on the panel this year.
A source previously said: "Everyone thinks there is some huge beef between Cheryl and Mel but there isn't.
"Cheryl is happy it is another woman [on the panel] and she thinks she will work well with Mel as they are both very feisty.
"Cheryl is just going to focus on the show and wants to find the winner."

Brooke Vincent: Men think I’m a lesbian

Brooke Vincent finds it hard to meet men because they think she's a lesbian in real life.
The 'Coronation Street' beauty, who plays lesbian Sophie Webster, admits she doesn't get much attention from the opposite sex following her split from footballer Josh McEachran as guys assume she only likes women.
She said: "That's the first question a lad will ask me, 'Are you really a lesbian?' "
The 22-year-old actress, whose character is in a serious relationship with Maddie Heath (Amy Kelly), admits she worried how viewers would react to her storyline but is pleased with the positive impact it has had on young lesbian viewers.
She explained to The Sun newspaper: "I was worried how people were going to respond because I was the first 'Corrie' lesbian. I was the first soap lesbian, really. I'm probably the first proper one.
"A lot say, 'Oh, my gran understands now, because you're a lesbian on 'Corrie' and she watches 'Corrie'.'
"It's normally the older generation that struggles with it because it was not around in their day, never heard of, and you couldn't say this and couldn't say that."
Brooke finds the positive effect incredibly rewarding and thinks her plot has been an "amazing experience".
She added: "It's just knowing you're helping that one person, it makes such a difference. So many people tweet me and say, 'Thank you for this.' "

Brendan O’Carroll had ‘easy ride’ in juvenile detention

Brendan O'Carroll was the "golden boy" in juvenile detention.
The creator and star of 'Mrs. Brown's Boys' has confessed he was sent to a youth detention centre in Dublin, Ireland, after he was caught stealing a roll of sticky tape and a bicycle bell as a youngster, but his ability to read Latin made his three-week stay much easier.
Brendan said: "Well, that made me the golden boy! I was up every morning at half-six for Mass and I got a pretty easy ride of it at the end of the day.
"A lot of people got a much tougher time than me in there."
The 58-year-old funnyman - who admits his famous character Agnes Brown is based on his mother and other strong women he grew up around - was celebrating his birthday on the day he received his court sentence and reveals his mother didn't let it ruin his day.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "The morning I went to court, it was my ninth birthday. I was in my suit for my birthday, the suit I'd worn to one of my brothers' or sisters' weddings, and my mother took me into town. On the way we stopped by the court.
"When we came out of court, I said, 'How did it go?' She said, 'We'll talk later.' We had a great day ... she brought me to Bewley's [coffee shop] to have coffee, she put down a plate of éclairs, and I ate eight éclairs!"
He added: "That night she told me, 'Listen, you've got to go the police station tomorrow, you've got to go away.' "

Benidorm’s Kenny Ireland diagnosed with cancer

Kenny Ireland is reportedly battling cancer.
The 'Benidorm' actor, who plays the Solana hotel's resident swinger Donald, has sadly pulled out of the ITV sitcom's upcoming summer series after being diagnosed with the disease and is now focusing on his recovery.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "The diagnosis was crushing for Kenny and his family. This is obviously a very difficult time for them and they are coping as best they can.
"The priority is Kenny's health. As soon as he was given the news he pulled out of the latest series of 'Benidorm' which, of course, everyone understood."
A spokesperson for Kenny declined to comment, but confirmed he wouldn't appear in new episodes of the popular show, which is about to embark on its seventh series.
The Garvey family have also checked out of the programme, with Mick (Steve Pemberton) Janice (Siobhan Finneran), Madge (Sheila Reid), and Michael (Oliver Stokes) receiving a big send off in the new season's opening episodes.
Steve recently explained: "We've left 'Benidorm'. We filmed our scenes early on this year so we're going to be in the first episode or two of the new series, but then the whole Garvey family are leaving."

Ryan Thomas doesn’t want any more kids

Ryan Thomas doesn't want any more children.
The 'Coronation Street' star - who has daughter Scarlett, five, with former co-star Tina O'Brien - admits becoming a dad at a young age was tough and he isn't sure he could have another child to look after.
He said: "It's such a big responsibility to be a parent. You have to sort of give up your life for them in a way. Having one's hard but having more ... it's just a lot of responsibility and I'm not sure if I want that again.
"I was just so young. I've always been there for Scarlett, but I'm just not sure I want to go through all that again, although it's getting easier now Scarlett's getting older.
"Then again, if you meet someone you love, you might end up having more children, so who knows."
The 30-year-old hunk is in a relationship with Bollywood actress Amy Jackson, 23, and says he can't wait to go out to India to see her in her element.
Ryan told Britain's OK! magazine: "She's going again in July then her film is out in August, so I'd like to go over with her for that. I know in certain areas she's crazy famous and it would be nice to experience what it's like for her."

Millie Mackintosh makes new friends

Millie Mackintosh says she has a "whole new group of friends" after quitting 'Made in Chelsea'.
The 24-year-old beauty, who left the E4 show last year prior to her wedding to Professor Green, has revealed she doesn't keep in touch with many of her former co-stars, except Rosie Fortescue, and has moved on from the show and made new pals.
She explained: "I'm really missing Rosie while she's been in New York [filming 'Made in Chelsea: New York']. I'm jealous that we didn't get to film out there but I did some amazing trips like Morocco and Cannes.
"I saw Caggie [Dunlop] recently but I've made loads of new friends. You have friends in your teens and then you make a whole new group of friends in your twenties.
"I don't speak to many people in 'Chelsea'. I stay out of it. I don't even watch it!"
Fashion fan Millie is currently competing on the latest series of BBC cooking competition, 'Celebrity MasterChef', and can't believe she's working alongside supermodel Jodie Kidd.
She told Britain's OK! magazine: "I've met some of the other people who'll be on it. Jodie Kidd is a lot of fun and a great cook, and Lesley Ash is lovely. The girls stick together, but there are some dark horses."

Blackadder star Patsy Byrne dies aged 80

'Blackadder' actress Patsy Byrne has died aged 80.
The veteran star - who played Nursie in the second series of the iconic comedy - passed away on June 17 at Denville Hall retirement home in London.
The official 'Blackadder' Facebook page is among those who have paid tribute to the late actress - who died less than a month after her co-star Rik Mayall - describing her as an "amazing" talent.
The page said: "Very saddened to hear that Blackadder has lost another amazing actor.
"RIP Patsy Byrne AKA Nursie AKA Bernard. You and Flashheart can flirt for an eternity now."
Although most famous for her role in 'Blackadder II', Patsy had a varied career both on stage and television.
As well as roles in Liverpool-based show 'Watching', and 'David Copperfield', she also appeared on children's programme 'Playdays', and her last credit was 'Holby City' in 2006.
However, it is her performances as clueless but loyal Nursie - whose real name was Bernard - which will be best remembered by fans.
She grew up in Ashford, Kent, attending Ashford School for Girls and then drama school before joining the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Vernon Kay to sign new ITV deal

Vernon Kay is close to signing a new deal to become the face of daytime television for ITV.
The presenter was rumoured to be in line to replace Sir Bruce Forsyth on BBC's 'Strictly Come Dancing', but bosses have done all they can to keep him on the channel.
An insider told the Sunday People newspaper: "Vernon is one of the key stars on the channel and they want him to have more airtime.
"He is adored by viewers and is fast establishing himself as one of a handful of top entertainment presenters.
"It will be a quiz show and he will be extending his current job within ITV so it will be more work for him - and a nice sum of money too."
His latest game show has already had a pilot filmed, and bosses expect it to turn him into the "king of the daytime".
The source added: "The pilot went really well and now everyone is looking forward to the new series.
"He will undoubtedly become the king of the daytime television."
However, Vernon has admitted in the past he would have loved the opportunity to replace Bruce on 'Strictly'.
He previously said: "That question always makes me laugh. When someone says, 'Would you like to co-host the most successful show on British TV at the moment', who is going to say no?
"What idiot is going to say, 'I do not want to host a Saturday night prime-time show on the BBC that averages 11.5million viewers a week?' "

Ferne McCann: I’m queen bee of TOWIE

Ferne McCann thinks she's the "queen bee" of 'The Only Way is Essex'.
The reality star thinks now that fan favourites Sam Faiers and Lucy Mecklenburgh have left the ITV2 show, the cameras are rightfully going to focus more on her.
She enthused: "I'm always the queen bee. A few of the girls have left, which has shot me into the limelight. And I'm a f***ing good character! One thing I will say, which I said to Tom Pearce and Charlie Sims on the way here, is: I'm Ferne McCann. I'm one of a kind."
Ferne has reconciled with her boyfriend Charlie following several tumultuous bust-ups and the pair think they're now the ITV2 show's power couple.
The 23-year-old brunette said: "I suppose we're the ones who've had the most turbulence and cheating scandals."
Charlie added: "But we're stronger now."
The cast recently soaked up the sun filming special 'The Only Way Is Marbs' and Ferne predicts newly single Danielle Armstrong might strike up a summer fling with Tom Pearce.
She told Now magazine: "Danielle Armstrong and Tom Pearce were getting a bit frisky! He was saying that they'd had a game of naked pool earlier."
