Jason Manford has discovered a lump on his testicle and fears it could be cancer.
The 33-year-old comedian revealed the worrying news on his Facebook page and has booked an urgent doctor's appointment for today (03.07.14) after finding the lump on his "favourite testicle".
He wrote: "I don't want people to be alarmed. I'm going to get myself checked out to be on the safe side.
"I urge all men to do the same if they are worried. It's always best not to brush these things under the carpet."
The father-of-three took to Facebook on Tuesday (01.07.14) to tell fans about his cancer scare.
He wrote: "My body: 'Hey brain, has Jason got much work in this week after his 220-date, 6 nights a week tour?'
"My brain: 'Erm', checking through diary 'not loads, 4 or 5 days off now.' My body: 'Oh good.' My brain: 'Why do you ask?' My body: 'Oh, I'm just thinking of f***ing him right up with a bit of the flu, a frozen shoulder, back ache - and a swollen ankle. Oh and schedule an appointment at the doctors cause I've just developed a lump on his left testicle so he can spend the rest of his break ill or worried.' Cheers body!"
The stand-up star later updated his status on Facebook and thanked his 800,000 online fans for their support.

"A little lump on my favourite testicle, have booked in a doctors appointment tomorrow for a check, I'm sure it's nowt but it's good to talk about these things. (sic)"
He then attached a link to an NHS cancer prevention website and added: "Why don't you fellas do the same."

Russell T Davies: Soaps could die out in 10 years

Russell T Davies worries soaps could die out in 10 years.
The former 'Doctor Who' writer and executive producer has warned that top shows such as 'EastEnders' and 'Coronation Street' could no longer exist if bosses don't find a way to stop falling ratings.
Both 'EastEnders' and 'Corrie' pulled in over 20 million viewers in the 1980s and early 1990s, but ratings have now fallen to less than 10 million an episode.
Russell told Attitude magazine: "I think the soaps are in trouble and need to be careful. You can see a television landscape in 10 years' time where they won't exist or will be reduced."
The TV producer, who created the iconic gay drama 'Queer as Folk', also expressed fears representation of the gay community may be affected if there aren't any soaps on TV.
He added: "Without the soaps, gay visibility on TV will plummet."
Russell is currently producing various gay-themed series for Channel 4, which will air in 2015.
'Cucumber', an eight-part series exploring the lives of gay men in the 21st Century, is to air on Channel 4, while 'Banana' will air on E4. Meanwhile, documentary series 'Tofu' will be screened on on-demand service 4OD.

Gary Lucy for Casualty guest role

Gary Lucy is to guest star on 'Casualty'.
The former 'EastEnders' hunk will take a lead role in a one-off special of the BBC One medical soap later this year.
According to RadioTimes.com, Gary will play "a loveable rogue, born charmer and con man who exists very much on the wrong side of the tracks".
The BBC is producing three 'Casualty' spin-off specials which will be independent from the show and make no reference to its ongoing storylines or characters.
Gary's episode - which will air in November - is expected to follow a murder mystery format.
A source said: "It will be really stylish - we're thinking 'Casualty Noir'."
Gary, 32, most recently played scheming real estate broker Danny Pennant in 'EastEnders' but departed the soap earlier this year.
He said at the time: "I enjoyed my time there and it's been left open. I want to challenge myself and my character had no ties left, so in that respect it was the right time to go."
The former 'Hollyoaks' and 'Footballers' Wives' star will be seen on stage soon in a new adaptation of 'The Full Monty'.

Simon Cowell hires strippers for Cheryl Cole

Simon Cowell hired strippers for Cheryl Cole.
The 54-year-old music mogul organised six erotic dancers known as 'Highland Fling' as a surprise for the 'Crazy Stupid Love' singer's 31st birthday.
Simon invited the group to the Edinburgh auditions of the ITV talent show where they performed to Nelly's hit 'Hot In Here' in front of the pair and their fellow judges, Louis Walsh and Spice Girl Mel B.
The 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' singer is said to have been mortified by Simon's birthday surprise while the rest of the judges enjoyed the show.
A source told The Sun: "Cheryl was hiding behind her hands. She looked so embarrassed.
"But the other judges thought it hilarious."
Meanwhile, Cheryl - who turned 31 on Monday (30.06.14) - spent the weekend celebrating in style at her rose-themed birthday party.
The 'Call My Name' hitmaker who infamously got a rose tattoo that covered her lower back and entire butt last year, was treated to a lavish three-tier birthday cake adorned in the thorny flowers and several bouquets of red roses.
The birthday girl posed for a picture on Instagram with a cocktail in hand, in front of the roses and a romantic arrangement of candles.
She captioned the picture: "Happy birthday to me!! such a beautiful night... Thank you for all your well wishes #stunning#surprise [sic]."
On another shot depicting her sumptuous-looking birthday cake she wrote: "Red velvet Rose decorated Birthday cake #AllRoserrrything #Bestbirthdayever thank you for your messages [sic]."

Roxanne Pallett doesn’t miss Emmerdale

Roxanne Pallett doesn't miss 'Emmerdale'.
The 31-year-old actress played Jo Sugden in the Yorkshire soap from 2005 to 2008 but she admits she hasn't "had a chance" to miss the role because she's been keeping so busy with various acting roles in the six years since she left.
Speaking at a special screening of Noel Clarke's new film 'The Anomaly' in London, she told BANG Showbiz: "I don't miss it, but I'm really appreciative of it and I love 'Emmerdale' - I still watch it. I've not had a chance to miss it because I've been working on so many projects since. I try not to miss anything I've done. I try to just put it in a little box and love it tenderly, but I don't look back."
Since quitting 'Emmerdale', Roxanne has starred in Hollywood sequels 'Lake Placid 3' and 'Wrong Turn 6' and has found the world of film to be a vast difference from soap.
She explained: "Soap's very quick and you've got to be really at the top of your game and really disciplined because you shoot every day, then and there - you don't get a rehearsal.
"With films, the parameters are changed because there's no watershed, so they really push you beyond a limit you would expect. But it's nice and it's given me a more rounded view on my acting. It's been good for me."

Matt Smith is Noel Clarke’s favourite Doctor

'Doctor Who' star Noel Clarke says Matt Smith is his favourite Doctor.
The 38-year-old actor - who played Mickey Smith in the BBC sci-fi drama - has appeared to snub his former co-stars Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant by selecting the Eleventh Doctor, who he didn't work, as his favourite incarnation of the Time Lord.
Asked who his favourite Doctor is, Noel told BANG Showbiz: "Matt Smith. He had a different energy. He was just very different. Nobody thought he could match DT [David Tennant], but he did."
Mickey also reveals that he hasn't ruled out a return to the hit show, which now stars Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor.
Speaking at the premiere of his new film 'The Anomaly', he said: "If I was asked to go back then it would definitely be a consideration, yes."
Noel was one of the original stars of the 2005 'Doctor Who' revival, playing the boyfriend of the Doctor's then-companion Rose Tyler (Billie Piper).
He appeared alongside Christopher Eccleston for one series, followed by numerous adventures with David Tennant.

Dan Osborne ‘in love’ with Jacqueline Jossa

Dan Osborne is "in love" with Jacqueline Jossa.
The hunky reality TV star confesses his love for the 'EastEnders' actress - whom he previously dated last year - in tonight's (02.07.14) episode of 'The Only Way is Essex'.
In a conversation with Elliott Wright, James 'Arg' Argent and Tom Pearce, Dan declares: "Yeah, I would definitely say I was in love. And I don't believe in throwing that word around, but I am happier than I've ever been."
Dan is then gently teased by his pals, who hum the theme tune to the BBC One soap.
Meanwhile, the buff star has claimed he's "improved" in the bedroom after his former fling, co-star Jasmin Walia, was unimpressed with his performance.
Co-star Tom quips: "Is she happy with you in the bedroom? Because we know Jasmin had a few complaints."
Dan responds that he's "moved on" from Jasmin - who recently threw a drink over him in Marbella - and adds: "I don't want to hear about Jasmin."
The dad-of-one - who has son Teddy with ex-girlfriend Megan Tomlin - recently described soap beauty Jacqueline as "incredible".
He said: "She's absolutely incredible. I respect her a lot. I like the girl, so I don't want to ruin it."

Sherlock for special, new series in 2015

'Sherlock' is to film a special and a new series in 2015.
The BBC has confirmed the hit detective drama starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman will return to BBC One next year for a one-off episode that promises to be "one of the biggest mysteries yet" for super-sleuth Sherlock Holmes and his trusty sidekick Dr. John Watson.
The special will pick up where the last series - which ended in January - left off as Sherlock and Watson attempt to solve why the villainous Moriarty's face has been broadcast on television sets across the world. The detective's arch rival, who was killed off in Series 2, seemingly appeared from beyond the grave in the final moments of Series 3 in a shocking twist.
The episode is due to be filmed in January 2015 and will be followed by a three-part fourth series of 'Sherlock', which will film later in the year.
Executive producer Steven Moffat said: "A special, plus a new series of three episodes - it's a record-breaking run! Of course, it's far too early to say what's coming, but we're reasonably confident that the very next thing to happen to Sherlock and John, is the very last thing you'd expect."
BBC One controller Charlotte Moore added: "It's a very good day in the life of a BBC One Controller when you can announce Sherlock will return for a special plus a new three-part series. Massive thanks to Sue Vertue and Hartswood Films for pulling this off, it's no mean feat pinning down some of this country's most brilliant and in-demand actors and writers."
Since 'Sherlock' ended its thrilling third series earlier this year, fans have been hankering for their next fix of the detective drama and were left with the prospect of an agonising two-year wait as stars Benedict and Martin pursue burgeoning Hollywood careers.
But it seems impassioned viewers will have a shorter wait than ever before for the next instalment as producers have managed to align the in-demand stars' schedules.
Producer Sue Vertue commented: "It's taken a little while to get the dates sorted as none of the boys are exactly sitting back twiddling their thumbs but there was unanimous goodwill to make this work, so we're thrilled that 221b is going to be inhabited again."
