Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson is engaged

Kieron Richardson has got engaged.
The 'Hollyoaks' star - who is known for playing Ste Hay in the Channel 4 soap - is planning to get hitched to his long-term boyfriend Carl Hyland early next year.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Kieron said: "I just got engaged. It's really exciting. We've been together for over seven years so it's not a shock."
The 28-year-old hunk is keen to have a low-key ceremony when the warmer weather starts to hit the UK, but he insists his big day will be filled with "surprises".
He explained: "Depending on storylines, we're hoping to squeeze it [the wedding] in next year.
"I don't want it to be a cold wedding, but then I don't want to be too hot, so it'll be spring ... I want there to be a few surprises on the day. Not even my mum knows some of the things I have in mind."
Kieron came out in 2010 when he revealed on national television that, like his alter-ego Ste, he too is gay.
He said at the time: "I am gay in real life and at 20 years old I kind of accepted it myself and now I can finally relate to my character Ste that he is 20 and he's going through things that I went through in my past."

X Factor auditions delayed by judges’ holiday

The 'X Factor' auditions have been thrown into chaos after the judges demanded a last-minute holiday.
The show's bosses were forced to cancel several dates and venues after the panel - Simon Cowell, Mel B, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh - insisted on having a break in the middle of filming, which has left producers no choice but to cram the final rounds into one day.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "It is possible that singers could audition and then have to sing in the arena days later. It could be an intense experience."
Meanwhile, Louis, 61, admitted earlier this month that the auditions had got off to a good start in Manchester and he was impressed by the level of talent this year.
He said: "The first session went well, it was great. It's fun and I think both of the girls will get on well.
"It's all going great. We're going to get the fun back in the show ... Simon is on top form and the talent is all good, with all new faces."
However, it was recently revealed that Cheryl had insisted on being seated away from Louis - who used to manage her group Girls Aloud - on the panel.
A source said: "A lot of thought has gone into the seating after Cheryl said she wouldn't sit next to Louis. The pair have a lot of beef from the days of Girls Aloud.
"It means Mel has to sit between them -- giving Cheryl the key spot next to Simon."

Kelly Brook’s fiancé to join Celebrity Big Brother

Kelly Brook's fiancé is "interested" in signing up to the next series of 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
David McIntosh has reportedly been offered a six-figure deal to appear on the Channel 5 reality show and he hopes the programme will help boost his profile.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Both parties are very interested. David is desperate to be famous in his own right. He doesn't want to be hanging off of Kelly's coattails, especially once they tie the knot."
The former 'Gladiators' star - who was known as Tornado on the show - is even considering postponing his wedding to Kelly, 34, who he proposed to in April, so their big day doesn't clash with the programme.
The source explained: "David and Kelly were planning to get hitched in September. But if he signs on for 'CBB', these plans will have to be put on hold."
Meanwhile, former 'The Only Way is Essex' star Lauren Goodger, 27, is also rumoured to be joining the show as bosses are hoping she'll dish the dirt on her former fiancé Mark Wright, 27, who is now engaged to 'Coronation Street' beauty Michelle Keegan, 27.
An insider said previously: "They [Mark and Lauren] dated from 15 until their mid-twenties and Lauren has already spoken out about very personal things like the abortion she had when carrying Mark's baby. They're expecting bombshells."

Jodie Kidd shocked by Celebrity MasterChef success

Jodie Kidd is shocked she has made it to the 'Celebrity MasterChef' final.
The model, 35, thinks she was seen as an outsider at the start of the competition, but believes she has overcome the odds to leave her on the cusp of winning.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: "I was a bit of the underdog, so I'm really proud to show that through grit and determination, you can do it.
"I put my head down and I tried and tried - and made it to the final. Unbelievable."
Jodie's fellow finalist 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' actress Sophie Thompson insists her secret to success on the BBC One show is to simply enjoy the experience.
Asked what she'd learnt throughout the series, she replied: "Just the joy of cooking. It's such a lovely thing to get on and do."
Meanwhile, Jodie and Sophie will battle it out against adventurer Charley Boorman in tonight's (18.07.14) final and he admits, despite a botched effort to make a batch of macaroons, he has thoroughly enjoyed taking part.
He told The Sun newspaper: "Macaroons aside, I have had a brilliant experience.
"I didn't realise how much of an adrenaline rush I'd get from the challenges. It has been great fun."
The final of 'Celebrity MasterChef' will air tonight on BBC One at 8.30pm.

Emmerdale’s Samantha Giles avoided ‘skimpy’ underwear

Emmerdale's Samantha Giles didn't want to wear "skimpy" underwear on-screen.
The soap star - who plays cougar Bernice Blackstock on the ITV soap - has admitted she was mortified when she found out she'd be wearing risqué underwear for scenes where she attempts to seduce Andy Sudgen (Kelvin Fletcher), with whom she's having an on-screen affair.
She explained: "I worked with the costume department to make sure it wasn't too skimpy. It said in the script Bernice would be wearing 'complicated underwear'.
"I was like, 'It's 7pm, people don't want to see that'. It had to be tasteful."
Samantha will be seen wearing a sexy black basque in the scenes - which are to appear on screen in the next few weeks - but will be humiliated when she finds Andy has reunited with his ex-wife Katie Addyman (Sammy Winward).
According to The Sun newspaper, Samantha said: "Bernice makes one last attempt to seduce him wearing risqué stuff - a basque, skirt and fishnet tights."
But when Andy rejects her, she decides to head to the pub and finds herself in even more trouble when a man invites her to a photoshoot and she agrees, not realising he wants her to pose as a glamour model
Samantha added: "This guy sees what she's wearing and invites her to a photoshoot. That makes her feel better ... She's flattered and thinks it's a professional modelling job ... It doesn't quite go to plan."

Billie Faiers will show baby on TOWIE

Billie Faiers is "not against" her baby appearing on 'The Only Way is Essex'.
The 24-year-old reality star gave birth to a daughter - her first child with fiancé Greg Shepherd - last week and isn't worried about shielding her from the limelight.
She told Britain's OK! magazine: "I reckon she'll make a little appearance because she's going to be pictured out and about with me, so I'm not against having her on the show.
"Maybe you'll see her when the girls come around to visit, or I'll take her for a walk in the park."
Billie has had a whirlwind year as Greg, 29, proposed to her during a romantic getaway to the Maldives and having just started their own family, the blonde beauty is "ecstatic".
She gushed: "We've just been in the nursery saying how mad it is that she's finally here and that it's the start of our family life. Earlier the three of us were together, laughing and taking a family selfie. I was holding her and Greg said, 'I need to get in the picture.' It was lovely. We're really happy and already so in love with her. She's just perfect."

Harry Reid cast as Ben Mitchell in EastEnders

Harry Reid has been cast as Ben Mitchell in 'EastEnders'.
The wayward son of Phil Mitchell, who was last seen in August 2012 when he was imprisoned for the murder of Heather Trott, will return to Albert Square later this year with newcomer Harry cast in the role.
The actor said: "I'm very excited to be joining 'EastEnders - not only because it's a great show but also to be playing Ben, a character that is so renowned and from such an iconic family. I'm looking forward to getting started and working closely with the legendary Steve McFadden. I can't wait to become a fully-fledged Mitchell."
Executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins added: "Ben's half-Beale and half-Mitchell and Harry perfectly encapsulates both the Mitchell danger and Beale heart that make Ben such a complex character. Ben's return to the Square is going to have big repercussions for his family, his friends - and his enemies. Plus a few residents he hasn't even met yet."
Ben's dad Phil was shocked to learn that he had been released from prison earlier this year, but his attempts to track Ben down proved futile.
The cunning character's return to Walford will have huge consequences for Phil, his ex-girlfriend Lola Pearce and their daughter Lexi.
Ben was last played by Joshua Pascoe from 2010 to 2012. Charlie Jones memorably played a young Ben from 2006 to 2010.

Ralf Little ‘owes career’ to Royle Family

Ralf Little "owes his career" to 'The Royle Family'.
The 34-year-old actor shot to fame playing Antony Royle in the popular sitcom and admits he is always willing to star in one-off specials because show creators Caroline Aherne and Craig Cash gave him his big break.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz at a VIP screening of Kasabian's new concert film in London's Leicester Square last night (16.07.14), he said: "I owe everything to it, and if Caroline and Craig ever said to me, 'Do you want to do it?' then I almost don't feel it would be my position [to say no] because I owe my entire career to them.
"I think people still love it. As long as they can keep on writing good scripts then I think there's a place for it."
Ralf also revealed that getting back together with the cast - including his on-screen parents Ricky Tomlinson and Sue Johnston - for specials is like a real-life family reunion.
He enthused: "I'd always like [to make] more because it's great fun to do. The whole group back together, it really is like one big family."
The last 'Royle Family' special aired on Christmas Day 2012 to a massive 9.90 million viewers, but there are no plans in place yet for a new episode.
He added: "At the moment, no plans."

BBC Trustee calls for more Sherlock

A BBC Trust official has called for more episodes of 'Sherlock'.
Trustee David Liddiment believes the BBC would benefit greatly if it were to air more than three episodes of the hit detective drama starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.
The BBC Trust is the governing body of the BBC and is tasked with ensuring it provides value for money to licence fee payers.
He told RadioTimes.com: "It is hard for audiences to understand why there is something as good as 'Sherlock' and it is on for only three weeks, why can't we have more of it?"
Mr. Liddiment went on to suggest the "benefits to the BBC would be great" if the show were to "sit in the schedule for 12 weeks".
The former ITV director of programmes co-wrote the latest BBC Trust review, which has relayed viewers' wishes for more quality drama in line with critically acclaimed US shows such as 'Breaking Bad'.
Mr. Liddiment explained: "We have seen extraordinarily ambitious pieces of television come out of America and Scandinavia, in particular shows like 'Mad Men' and 'Breaking Bad' which are on 12 hours a year. They are very, very ambitious and a modern audience, when it likes something, they want more of it.
"We are in a kind of demand society and it's not impossible is what I am saying. And when you get it absolutely spot on, it is a bolster to do more of that."
