Peter Capaldi didn’t want Doctor Who flirting

Peter Capaldi was "absolutely adamant" he didn't want any on-screen flirting with Jenna Coleman in 'Doctor Who'.
The 56-year-old star is set to portray the titular Time Lord in the upcoming eighth series of the BBC One sci-fi show and while Jenna's alter-ego Clara Oswald enjoyed a kiss with Eleventh Doctor Matt Smith last year, Peter was insistent that a similar relationship wouldn't play out between their respective characters.
He said: "There'll be no flirting, that's for sure. It's not what this Doctor's concerned with."
Making reference to a 1990s Renault Clio advert in which an older man flirts with a younger woman, who turns out to be his daughter, he added: "It's quite a fun relationship, but no, I did call and say, 'I want no Papa-Nicole moments'. I think there was a bit of tension with that at first, but I was absolutely adamant."
Peter admits he carefully considered the offer of the Twelfth Doctor before accepting the role because he had to think over whether he wanted to receive the level of attention that comes with playing the part.
He added to the Sunday Times Magazine: "I didn't want to be Doctor Who in a Doctor Who I didn't like. I had to be convinced the show was going in a direction I was interested in.
"I had to think carefully about the level of visibility. My life was blessed, but as soon as this happened I had paparazzi outside my house. People spoke to me before and recognised me, but nothing like this.
"I had to decide if I was ready to live with that, because once that genie is out of the bottle, it doesn't go back in."

David Walliams wants X Factor job

David Walliams wants to be Simon Cowell's guest at the Judges' Houses on 'The X Factor'.
The 42-year-old is envious of the music mogul's close friendship with returning judge Cheryl Cole and wants to find away to get on the ITV talent show in order to reclaim his title as "Simon's favourite girl."
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he said: "I really want to be Simon's helper at his judges' home in Barbados.
"I told him I'd come out of his closet but he said no. I won't be Simon's favourite girl any more. I will try to temper my jealousy when I watch the new series of 'X Factor' and see Cheryl and Simon being so close."
Despite his envy of Cheryl, 31, the 'Britain's Got Talent' panellist was over the moon when he'd heard she'd secretly married Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini earlier this month following a whirlwind romance.
He joked: "Now she's married, Simon will have to stop holding a candle for her."
However, David - who is married to stunning model Lara Stone - was glad the former Girls Aloud singer kept the wedding a secret from Simon, 54, as he believes he would have "blabbed" about it.
He explained: "Simon is terrible at keeping secrets. Cheryl was very wise not to tell him her big news. He'd have definitely blabbed it."
Meanwhile, the 'X Factor' is set to hit screens in the autumn with Simon, Cheryl, Louis Walsh and Mel B all confirmed to have a seat on the panel.

Vicky Pattison wants marriage

Vicky Pattison wants to be married in five years' time.
The 'Geordie Shore' reality star has admitted that she plans to be married by the time she is 31.
Vicky, who is currently 26 years old, revealed that she has a five year plan in place which will hopefully see her walking down the aisle and with a successful book under her belt.
She explained: "I hope I'll have a house and at least one book in the Times Bestseller List. I want to be at the top of my game and doing TV presenting. I want to wake up every day happy with my job and career. And I want to be married, with a dog."
However, Vicky's boyfriend, ice hockey player and part-time butcher James Morgan, won't be under any pressure from her to propose.
She added: "I would never put any pressure on him in that area. I think once you start doing that, men run away. The most attractive thing to a man is an independent woman."
In the past, Vicky has been engaged to former 'Geordie Shore' co-star Ricci Guarnaccio, but they broke up in June 2013.
Now, the feisty Geordie thinks she's finally found 'the one'.
Vicky told heat magazine: "I do hope a [proposal] happens in the future. [James] is the first bloke that's ever ticked all of my boxes."
'Geordie Shore' airs Tuesdays at 10pm on MTV.

Bellamy Young against Scandal romance

Scandal's Bellamy Young hopes Olivia Pope and President Fitz Grant don't get a happy ending.
The 44-year-old actress - who plays Fitz's scorned wife, the First Lady of the United States, Mellie Grant - has admitted she doesn't want her on-screen husband (played by Tony Goldwyn) to sail off into the sunset with his mistress, played by Kerry Washington, when the series ends.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I certainly hope not! How horrible [of me]! I like to think of Olivia as a short term problem. I'd like to think of Olivia as something Fitz will get over, I like to think of a time when perhaps Mellie is president and Fitz is the First Gentleman, but these are things that Mellie likes to think of."
Bellamy's vicious character often gets into heated arguments with Olivia, but the actress says the atmosphere on set is far from bleak when the cameras stop rolling.
She explained: "I'm lucky because we're the closest cast ever, it's the sweetest bunch of people - so kind, so hard working. And we love to embrace it together and we spend a lot time off set together."
Bellamy says her close friendship with Kerry, 37, allows them to be mean and nasty when filming scenes between Mellie and her love rival Olivia, and they embrace the opportunity to run wild.
The flame-haired star enthused: "There's just no more fun than when you get to be that completely unleashed and you can't be that completely unleashed unless you really trust who you're with. So it's a credit to what a love she is that we enjoy all of that ranting as much as we do."
'Scandal' Season 3 starts on July 31 at 9pm on Sky Living.

Lauren Goodger feels ‘betrayed’ by sex tape leak

Lauren Goodger feels "betrayed and embarrassed" after a sex tape of her was leaked.
The 28-year-old star has been left mortified after a six-second clip of her performing an intimate act on her ex-boyfriend Jake McLean, 24, spread like "wildfire."
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday newspaper, she said: "It is mortifying and humiliating. I've got no control over the situation I am in. I feel powerless.
"My private life has been invaded in the most horrible way. I can even see how some girls would feel suicidal and not be able to cope in this situation."
The video, which was initially leaked via text, email and WhatsApp, was filmed by Jake on his own mobile phone at the home they shared in Epping, Essex, until their split eight months ago.
However, Lauren, who claims she didn't even know the explicit tape existed until a week ago, refuses to believe her property developer ex was behind the leak.
She explained: "Jake was a jealous guy -- which is why I don't understand what's happened.
"He wouldn't want people seeing the footage -- and it's embarrassing for him too."
Meanwhile, the brunette beauty has since been bombarded with creepy calls and texts from strangers after the clip was accompanied by her mobile number.
The former 'The Only Way is Essex' star now fears the leaked video may have ruined her future love life.
She said: "I'm worried now because if I do start dating someone else I have got to explain this situation to them. Anyone going out with someone doesn't want to think of them with someone else, especially their ex. How am I going to explain the video? It will be awful."

EastEnders rocked with huge fire storyline

'EastEnders' is set to be rocked by a huge fire that tears through the Slater family's home later this year.
The loud-mouthed relatives could be left fighting for their lives after a fellow Walford resident deliberately sets their house alight in September.
A soap insider told the Daily Star newspaper: "This is one of the biggest storylines of the year and will kick-start an action-packed autumn in Albert Square. The fire isn't a big stunt, it's more about what happens in the aftermath. It's going to be a very moving and emotional storyline as at least one person is rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries."
Kat and Alfie Moon (Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie), their son Tommy, newborn twins Bert and Ernie, Stacey Branning (Lacey Turner), her mother Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) and Big Mo (Laila Morse) will be among the characters trapped inside when the deadly fire aggressively wipes through their home.
The source explained: "It's going to be heartbreaking as the scenes play out. There was lots of screaming and crying when we filmed the fire episodes and when they are finally broadcast we're certain there won't be a dry eye anywhere in the country."
However, viewers are set to be stunned when they find out which resident is responsible for lighting the match.
The insider added: "Everyone will be shocked when they discover who it is.
"The arsonist will have to live with the consequences of his or her actions for the rest of their life."

Kate Garraway wants a baby

Kate Garraway wants a baby at 47.
The 'Good Morning Britain' host has admitted she'd love to fall pregnant again with her husband Derek, with whom she has daughter Darcey, eight, and son Billy, four.
She said: "I'm 47, there's a big change in your fertility at that age. But I'd love to fall pregnant with a third baby - we both would. But life is really full and it's just pure greed on my part!"
Kate has ruled out adoption, however, explaining that her career is so busy she'd need to make more time to help the child adjust.
She explained: "If you're taking on a child that may already have issues or problems, I think I'd like to feel I had more time. I'm really lucky though and have a lovely family."
The TV journalist feels motherhood has made her more conscious of her health and diet as she wants to ensure she is around for her kids.
Kate told new! magazine: "Now I've had children I feel health is more a priority rather than obsessing over the way you look in a pair of skinny jeans. Though I would love to look good in a pair of skinny jeans!"

Alan Carr wants ‘nut-jobs’ on Singer Takes It All

Alan Carr wants "nut-jobs" to compete on his new show 'The Singer Takes It All'.
The chat show host will front Channel 4's new singing game show, which will see wannabes perform on a moving stage to win a cash prize, and he is happy to embrace tone-deaf hopefuls.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "We're openly encouraging nut-jobs to come down and sing! I enjoyed 'The Voice', but when they got rid of the loons it became less interesting.
"We all love characters like Wagner and Diva Fever.
"That said, you need to have a balance. We want talented singers as well, otherwise it's just a freak show on a conveyor belt."
Singers will perform on an 18-metre moving stage and viewers at home are given all the power as they can vote through a mobile phone app as the contestant performs. If the majority of viewers press 'Hit', the singer is moved to the front of the stage, but if they press 'Miss' the contestant is hurtled towards the back.
Alan said of the innovative format: "The fact that it's interactive and the great British public are the judges makes it really groundbreaking - which is not something you usually associate with me!
"It's a singing show with a 'Gogglebox' feel, because the show is in the hands of the viewers at home.
"It strips away all the boring sob stories you get on 'The X Factor'."

Mark Wright signs up for Strictly

Mark Wright has signed up for 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The former 'The Only Way is Essex' star has reportedly been snapped up by BBC bosses to appear on the new series of the celebrity dancing competition, but his glamorous fiancée Michelle Keegan has declined an offer to join him.
Producers had hoped to have both Mark and the former 'Coronation Street' actress compete but Michelle, 27, has opted to focus on her acting career.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Having a couple going head-to-head would have made great TV, but we are delighted to have Mark.
"Bosses are confident he can win over their audience given his success coming second on 'I'm a Celebrity'."
Mark will be in good company on the new series as producers are also eyeing The Saturdays singer Frankie Sandford, tennis pro Andy Murray's mum Judy, 'Match of the Day' presenter Alan Hansen and rugby hunk Thom Evans.
One star who won't be trying his hand at salsa, however, is BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James.
The 28-year-old presenter confirmed he's been approached for the new series but has turned it down to focus on his career.
He said: "I was asked to do it but I decided that I didn't want to this year.
"Even though it's a brilliant show, I decided it was best not to. I wasn't quite ready for it yet, I wasn't quite ready for the sequins.
"I said yes as I thought it would be hilarious and great fun. But I just woke up one morning and it didn't feel right."
