Benefits Street’s White Dee accused of betraying roots

'Benefits Street' star White Dee has been accused of "betraying her roots".
The 43-year-old star of the Channel 4 documentary series about James Turner Street in Birmingham, where a large number of residents claim government benefits instead of working, has been accused by her neighbour of betraying her roots by appearing on 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
Black Dee - whose real name is Samora Roberts - said: "She's a sell-out. I don't know her no more."
The 32-year-old reality TV star - who faces court next month on drugs and ammunition charges - insisted she wasn't jealous of her former friend, telling The Sun newspaper: "I wouldn't want nothing from some people who stabbed us in our heart.
"I wouldn't go on Big Brother.
"I hope she does the best for herself and her children. I'm still living the same normal life, with the same normal people, on the normal road."
Since joining the Channel 5 series on Monday (18.08.14), Dee has been tasked with trying to fool the foreign celebrity contestants - who include 'Point Break' actor Gary Busey - into believing she is the Duchess of Solihull and is related to the Queen.
Commenting on her task, one resident of James Turner Street said: "I think it is ridiculous to be honest."
Meanwhile, White Dee - who tweeted that she "couldn't bear the thought of being back on benefits" prior to entering the reality show house - is to be referred to by her real name Dee Kelly from now on, at the request of her management, who say she deserves "respect".

Cilla Black defends Cliff Richard

Cilla Black has defended Sir Cliff Richard.
The 60s popstar turned TV presenter has released a statement in support of her friend - whose house was searched in relation to a historical sex offence last week - in which she insists the accusations made against him are false.
The 71 year old wrote: "Cliff is a very close friend of mine and has been for a million years.
"I, like everyone else, was shocked to hear of these allegations and I am absolutely positive that they are without foundation."
Following the search of the 73-year-old star's property in Berkshire, South East England, items are believed to have been removed by the authorities but no arrests have been made.
A police spokesman said at the time "Police have gained entry to a property in the Sunningdale area of Berkshire. Officers are currently searching the property.
"A search warrant was granted after police received an allegation of a sexual nature dating back to the 1980s involving a boy who was under the age of 16 at the time.
"No one has been arrested and the owner of the property was not present."
Meanwhile, Sir Cliff - who is currently residing at his home in Portugal - is said to be angry at how long police are taking to investigate the child abuse allegations and has strongly denied sexually assaulting the young boy at an event in 1985.
A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "Sir Cliff and his team want explanations as to why the investigation has gone on for so long and why they burst into his home without warning.
"Sir Cliff feels publicly humiliated by the events of the past few days and is determined that this will not be repeated when he comes back to face the music.
"He wants to retain a sense of dignity in this whole very distressing situation."

Mary Berry pleased Paul Hollywood is back with wife

Mary Berry is pleased Paul Hollywood is back with his wife.
The 'Great British Bake Off' judge is delighted that Paul - who is her co-star on the BBC1 show - has been forgiven by his wife following an affair with his fellow 'The American Baking Competition' presenter Marcela Valladolid in 2013 and says he is much happier now he has been reunited with his family.
She told The Sun newspaper: "What happens in Paul's private life is down to Paul. What I do want is to see Paul happy -- he deserves that.
"Alex is lovely and a great mum and they've got a lovely little boy."
However, the 79-year-old cookery writer - who has helmed the series with the professional baker since 2010 - insists Paul has retained a naughty streak and still cracks jokes during filming.
She explained: "I've been known to leave the room when Paul cracks one of his jokes or makes a comment that has innuendo in it.
"Some things I don't get but Paul can fall about in hysterics and that alone makes it difficult to concentrate."
She added: "Luckily, filming schedules aren't so tight that we can't take a break when we need to. Doing it live would be more of a challenge."

Pregnant Holly Willoughby ‘can’t wait to wallow’

Holly Willoughby "can't wait to wallow at home" when she takes her maternity leave.
The 'This Morning' presenter, who is expecting her third child with husband Dan Baldwin, is looking forward to putting her feet up and relaxing when she takes a year-long break from the hit ITV show later this year.
She said: "By the end of the day I'm just ready for bed. Your body can't do as much as you want. I can't wait to just wallow at home like a big hippo."
The blonde beauty - who already has son Harry, five, and three-year-old daughter Belle - admits she won't have any more children after giving birth to her third child so wants to enjoy her maternity leave as much as possible.
Holly, 33, told the Daily Star newspaper: "I'm taking quite a long time off - a year, I think. This will probably be the last baby I will have.
"I'm not disappearing completely but I think it's an important time for my family."
'Britain's Got Talent' judge Amanda Holden and Christine Bleakley will both help cover Holly's time off, joining silver fox Phillip Schofield on the show.
Christine, 35, has previously filled in for both Holly and Phillip on 'This Morning'.

Jake Wood signs up for Strictly Come Dancing

Jake Wood has signed up for 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 'EastEnders' actor - who plays Max Branning in the BBC One soap - is being tipped for success on the ballroom show by literally following in the impressive footsteps of other Albert Square favourites to have competed on the programme, such as Scott Maslen (Jack Branning) and Charlie Brooks (Janine Butcher).
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "'EastEnders' stars have traditionally done well on Strictly and Jake hopes he can do the same.
"Bosses hope he'll be a favourite among female viewers, particularly since his soap character is such a hit with the ladies."
Jake will have no doubt got some advice from his former on-screen brother Scott as they are still good friends and were recently spotted out and about in London together.
The 42-year-old star is set to be joined by The Saturdays singer Frankie Sandford, tennis star Andy Murray's mother Judy and 'This Morning' host Alison Hammond after all three were confirmed for this year's lineup.
Judy recently said: "I'm a huge 'Strictly Come Dancing' fan but a total armchair dancer. It's going to be a big challenge for me and for whoever has to dance with me but I absolutely can't wait to get started!"

Mark Wright in talks for Strictly Come Dancing

Mark Wright has confirmed he is in talks to appear on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The former 'The Only Way is Essex' star - who is engaged to Michelle Keegan - thinks competing on the show would be "amazing", but he hasn't yet made a final decision.
He said: "I can say I've spoken to 'Strictly Come Dancing' but I haven't made a decision yet, nothing is confirmed but there have been chats.
"It's an amazing show and I'd love to learn how to dance. It would be a great experience."
If he does get onto the show, Mark should have no problem with the gruelling rehearsals as he and Michelle have been working out regularly.
He told Closer magazine: "We're members of the same gym and we work out at the same time but we don't train together - she does her own thing and I do mine."
If Mark does land a spot on the celebrity dance contest, he will be competing against The Saturdays singer Frankie Sandford, TV presenter Alison Hammond and tennis ace Andy Murray's mum Judy, the only three names to be confirmed as yet.

Lauren Goodger to show ‘sweet side’ on Celebrity Big Brother

Lauren Goodger entered the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house to prove she isn't a "b***h".
The former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star is determined to show a "sweet" side to her character on the current series of the Channel 5 reality show - which kicked off last night (18.08.14) - and hopes to rubbish rumours she is difficult and confrontational following her departure from the "staged" ITV2 show.
When asked which of her qualities she is hoping to show off in the house, the 27 year old told new! magazine: "My funny, sweet, kind, soft and laid-back side.
"People are always surprised by how different I am in real life. I'm not a confrontational, feisty, hard b***h."
She added: "It's a great opportunity to show who I am. It's not like TOWIE, where a lot of it is staged and I have to be a specific character.
Lauren - who famously pushed her ex-boyfriend Mark Wright in a pool while they rowed on an episode of the Essex-set reality show - has also vowed to avoid fighting with her housemates, unless she feels "mugged off".
She explained: "I won't let anyone mug me off, but I have no reason to get into any spats. It won't be like on TOWIE where they want me to row with an ex.
"I'll just walk away and not retaliate. I'll just rise above them."

Grace Andrews’ TOWIE tears

Grace Andrews burst into tears at James 'Arg' Argent's Westlife tribute on 'The Only Way is Essex' finale.
The 25-year-old star couldn't stop crying when she watched the last episode of the ITV2 reality show's 12th series, in which Arg hired out a choir to perform the Irish boy band's hit 'Flying Without Wings' in an attempt to win back on/off girlfriend Lydia Bright.
Grace said: "Arg's Westlife tribute at the finale was absolutely amazing. I cried when I watched it. It was so emotional.
"Lydia and Arg were both talking about it afterwards and yeah, they're getting on. I think they're taking it slow but they are getting on at the moment which is nice."
Grace admitted she would burst out crying if anyone ever did a similar thing for her as she is often in tears, especially when she sees animals which are unwell.
Speaking at the Carlsberg Born to be Chilled BBQ to promote Carlsberg Citrus and Blackcurrant, she added: "I cry at everything, to the point where I see a dog that's not well or something I'm crying. So I'd probably break down in tears if a guy did something like that for me."
Grace and co-star Danielle Armstrong recently enjoyed the refreshing great taste of Carlsberg Citrus and Blackcurrant at the Carlsberg Born to be Chilled BBQ.

Kylie Christie can’t wait to get ‘party started’

Kyle Christie is looking forward to getting the "party started" when he enters the 'Geordie Shore' house tonight (19.08.14).
The latest addition to the MTV reality show is to make his debut when he arrives at the famous party house in Newcastle on tonight's episode and he's revealed he thinks he's going to be a big hit with the girls, including Vicky Pattison, Charlotte Crosby and Marnie Simpson.
He says: "I don't know what it is that lasses like about us, it's just natural. It just happens. I've necked on with Vicky, I've kissed Charlotte, and Marnie is like my little sister. I can't wait to get this party started."
Holly Hagan - who has previously had flings with co-stars James Tindale and Scott 'Scotty T' Timlin - also expressed her interest in the new housemate.
Speaking on the show, she says: "There's a new boy in the house and he's fit! Welcome to the Geordie Shore house, please enter here [points to her mouth] or here [points to her crotch]."
Meanwhile, Vicky Pattison is set to destroy her chances of romance with Aaron Chalmers - who joined the show at the beginning of the current series - when he overhears her gossiping about him behind his back.
Holly says: "We're all just sat here slagging off Aaron and picking at every fault we can pick at. We're being a bitch bitchy actually."
After overhearing the girls' comments Aaron tells the boys he's heard them bad-mouthing him and slams them as "two-faced".
James says of the drama: "I can't believe it. The girls have been sat downstairs slagging Aaron off and he's heard every word of it. Things are going to kick off big time!"
