Rakhee Thakrar teases EastEnders character romance

EastEnders' Rakhee Thakrar has teased a "potential romance" for her character.
The 30-year-old actress, who plays the role of Shabnam Masood on the BBC One soap, has revealed there are much more exciting times ahead for her character and even a possible love interest.
She told BANG Showbiz: "There's a potential love interest for Shabnam on the way, but you just never know because the guy who comes in is quite hot - so he's got his pick of the girls and she could easily scare him off."
Rakhee refused to comment on whether newcomer Khoroush 'Kush' Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) was the man in question, but confessed she's looking forward to Shabnam letting loose a bit more.
She explained: "Recently Shabnam has just been in the Minute Mart, bless her, helping Denise [Diane Parish] out and helping her dad out.
"What's going to happen is her life is going to be explored, so that'll be great and I'm looking forward to that. There's definitely potentially some romance in the air."
Meanwhile, the soap star has addressed claims made by show bosses that her character is "hiding a terrible secret from her time away from Walford".
Quizzed on whether the secret was to be revealed soon, she added: "I don't think it's in the next couple of months but next year I think. That's what's been teased. The secret is a good one, but that's all I can say at the minute."

Scott Mills getting dancing tips from David Hasselhoff

Scott Mills turned to David Hasselhoff for 'Strictly Come Dancing' advice.
The BBC Radio 1 DJ has revealed that he has the support of former 'Baywatch' actor David, who took part in the American equivalent 'Dancing with the Stars' in 2010.
When asked if he had turned to any of his famous friends for advice, Scott told BANG Showbiz: "Randomly David Hasselhoff rang the other day going, 'Are you doing 'Dancing With The Stars'?' and I was like, 'Yeah, 'Strictly Come Dancing'!'
"So I'd quite like it if he came down ... and I think he's in the country when it's going out - if I stay in past week one. So that would be very funny."
He then joked: "He's done the American one [and] he went out the first week. The perfect person to support me!"
Scott also revealed that his friends a the BBC Radio 1 studio were really supportive of his dancing debut and are looking forward to watching him from the live audience.
He shared: "They love it, they're so behind it. Fearne [Cotton] just came back from Ibiza and she obviously hadn't heard, so she texted me when I was in the supermarket going 'oh my God', so she says she'll be there."

Jacqueline Jossa: Dan Osborne jealous of on-screen kissing

Jacqueline Jossa says Dan Osborne gets jealous of her kissing scenes in 'EastEnders'.
The 21-year-old beauty - who plays Lauren Branning in the BBC One soap - has confessed that although her 'The Only Way Is Essex' star boyfriend often helps her to practice her lines, they avoid running through scenes that involve her on-screen love interests, including Peter Beale (Ben Hardy), because he gets jealous about her kissing her co-stars.
Quizzed on whether Dan helps her to learn her lines, she told BANG Showbiz: "Yeah he's actually pretty good to be honest with you, he's not bad."
When asked if he reads Ben's parts, she added: "We try and steer clear of that because he goes, 'Oh [pulls sad face]. Why are you kissing there?' So not really."
The actress also admitted that while she thinks her boyfriend could easily make the transition from reality TV to acting, she doesn't think he could ever become her co-star on 'EastEnders'.
She explained: "I think he's too tall because everybody else is tiny. They'd have to lift the camera up to reach him ... Or put everyone else in bigger heels and then maybe."

Ashley Taylor Dawson unsure about Darren and Nancy’s future

'Hollyoaks' star Ashley Taylor Dawson is unsure about the future of his on-screen marriage.
The 32-year-old actor stars as Darren Osborne on the Channel 4 soap and he's revealed that although his character and Nancy Hayton (Jessica Fox) recently tied the knot again after a difficult year, he's not sure their marriage will last if he finds out about Nancy's affair with Rick Spencer (Victor Gardener).
He explained: "Nancy and Darren have been together for so long. They have been such a tight couple and been through all sorts. With that comes a level of respect.
"What's happened is obviously absolutely awful and I think Darren is going to go on the rampage a little bit. I think he mans up at last but will go about it totally the wrong way.
"I don't know whether they will survive it. With Nancy and Darren you'd always expect them to get through it, but so much has happened and do you ever get that respect back? I don't know."
Ashley confessed, however, that while he enjoys working with Jessica, he wouldn't mind if Darren and Nancy did split as he loves getting the opportunity to work alongside new people.
He said: "I love working with Jess - she's a fantastic actress. We just have a way of working that's very quick ... When you've worked together for so long it does make it easier, but at the same time it's nice to work with different people and also go on a different journey with your character so I'm open to anything."

Warwick Davis: Bob Monkhouse was a genius

Warwick Davis has praised the late Bob Monkhouse for being a "genius".
The 44-year-old star - who is to follow in Bob's footsteps by taking over as host of game show 'Celebrity Squares' when it re-launches on ITV - has confessed he knows he has big shoes to fill.
Speaking about how he's been watching old episodes of the show - which Bob presented from 1975 to 1979 and again from 1993 to 1997 - he told The Sun newspaper: "He was a genius in his quips and one-liners.
"He had a brilliant mind for retaining jokes which I don't have but I just tend to come up with stuff of the fly.
"Bob had a very laid-back presenting style whereas my style is a bit more in-your-face. I am a bit more cheeky than he might have been."
The 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' actor - who was born with a rare form of dwarfism known as SED - is also happy to be diversifying TV by becoming the first person of restricted growth to front a prime-time show.
He said: "I am in a really privileged position. It is a bold step for ITV and I really admire them for that but at the same time it's a great thing.
"People like myself who are short, we are no different to anyone else ... The more people understand that, the better the world will be."

Danny Dyer licked Mary Berry’s ear

Danny Dyer licked Mary Berry's ear at the TV Choice Awards on Monday night (08.09.14).
The 'EastEnders' hunk, 37, stunned the 'Great British Bake Off' star, 79, after he slipped his tongue into her ear canal as she presented the cast of the BBC One show with the gong for the Best Soap on stage at the ceremony.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Danny came from the other side to the rest of the cast and surprised Mary. He leant right over her and licked her ear. She tried to keep her composure but was clearly very shocked."
Following his bizarre behaviour, a member of staff was then ordered to spend the rest of the night following the drunk actor around to make sure he didn't get himself into any more trouble.
The source explained: "She even followed him into the toilet, they were so worried about the state he was in. But it's for his own sake and to protect him because he's actually one of the most popular members of the staff. The bosses love him."
However, this wasn't the only shocking thing Danny - who plays Mick Carter in the soap - did at the ceremony, which was held at the Hilton in Park Lane, central London, as he also shocked the audience when he launched into a foul-mouthed rant on stage as he collected his award for Best Actor earlier on in the evening.

ITV announces new talent show

ITV has announced a new talent show to replace 'Dancing on Ice'.
'Get Your Act Together' will show celebrities revisiting talents they had as youngsters before becoming famous and viewers will get to watch as they're tutored in their chosen talent by a star-studded team of trainers who will attempt to rekindle their talents of years gone by.
An insider explained to the Daily Star newspaper: "It's about re-igniting stars' old talents.
"Maybe Sinitta learned magic as a kid so we'll bring in Paul Daniels to teach her to saw someone in half.
"Or perhaps Gino D'Acampo used to sing and we'll get Katherine Jenkins to give him lessons.
"Maybe Michelle Keegan did street dance so we'll get Ashley Banjo from Diversity to sharpen up her moves."
Celebrity contestants will have to perform their new-and-improved skills to a panel of judges who will decide which stars are impressive enough to appear in the grand final of the series.
ITV hope 'Get Your Act Together' will fill the void created by the loss of 'Dancing on Ice', which ran for nine years before the show was scrapped because of dwindling viewing figures.
The talent contest will be recorded later this year, appearing on screens in January 2015.

Anton du Beke: Judy Murray to ‘surprise’ on Strictly Come Dancing

Anton du Beke says Judy Murray will "surprise" people on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The professional dancer - who has been involved in the BBC One show since its inception in 2004 - has insisted that his dance partner will "surprise" her professional tennis player son Andy Murray, who told Judy she would be "terrible" at the dancing competition.
Talking to BANG Showbiz, Anton explained: "He knows her better than me, but I think she's going to surprise her son - especially when she goes into the high kicks and backflips in week three."
He also added that his partner's enthusiasm for learning and her passion for the show will stand her in good stead, even if she does fail to pick up the moves as quickly.
Anton gushed: "Lady Judy Murray, she's got a lovely posture, a lovely determination and the biggest thing is that she loves the show. That's going to come through. Anybody who loves the show is a friend of mine."
Judy previously revealed how her sons, Jamie and Andy, had both responded very differently when they heard their mother could be competing in 'SCD'.
She explained: "Jamie said, 'Oh Mum, you'll love that, you love that show' and Andy said, 'Oh my god, you'll be absolutely terrible.' So, supportive until the end!"
The 55-year-old tennis coach joked that it was now "payback time" for her Wimbledon winning son to have to watch her compete instead.
Judy laughed: "I feel like it's payback time. I can see him slowly sliding underneath the chair in front of him."

Simon Cowell declares war on Strictly Come Dancing

Simon Cowell has declared war on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 54-year-old music mogul will pitch his ITV series 'The X Factor' against the BBC One dancing competition for the second time this year on Friday (10.09.14) after deciding to air the show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the boot camp and judges' houses stages of the series.
The shows are set to go head to head at 9pm, although ITV bosses deny this is a deliberate clash and insist they have been forced to broadcast an extra episode of the series on Friday as the Sunday schedule is too full.
An ITV source said: "The plan to spread Boot Camp and Judges' Houses across three nights has been in place for some time - before we saw the Strictly launch night billing.
"These are always longer shows and this year we don't have space on Sundays."
However, BBC bosses have hit back at the claims.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "They claim they are doing everything to avoid clashes but are playing The X Factor on a Friday for the first time ever when Strictly's first live show has been on Fridays for years. "
Meanwhile, it was Strictly that came out on top when the shows battled it out for ratings for the first time this year with the singing competition drawing a crowd of 9.2 million compared to 'Strictly's' 9.4million, prompting Simon to Tweet, "round one to them".
