Chloe Grace Moretz says trust is important in a relationship.
The ‘5th Wave’ actress has opened up about the difficulties of being in a long-distance relationship with her now-ex boyfriend Brooklyn Beckham.
In an interview with Teen Vogue magazine conducted before they split, she said: "You know as well as I do that it feels like everything in this industry is a long-distance relationship … So getting into a relationship with someone who also has lived some of their life between cities, from Los Angeles to New York to London, is easier.
"We both understand that there will be times when we can’t speak because we are too busy. Some of it is just based on trust. If you feel that you can trust each other and go eight hours without talking, then you have something that can withstand space and time."
Meanwhile, the 19-year-old actress previously admitted she is sick of her relationship with Brooklyn defining her.
She said: "Seriously, you don’t know how often I’m just described as ‘his girlfriend’. And you think, ‘Well, I’ve also been acting for 13 years, but don’t worry.’"
She later quipped: "One of the reasons why dating him is great is that we both get what it means to have our lives twisted and torn apart and faked."
And Chloe recently revealed her career can make dating someone tough.
She said: "[Potential boyfriends] have seen you in sex scenes in movies, they know what you look like crying.
"And they can read your interviews and know your favourite bands so it feels like they have all this in common with you… Happens a lot. I’ll think, ‘How are we vibing so hard right now?’ Then I realise, and I don’t care anymore, I just go back to work."
