Paddy McGuinness wants a ‘Top Gear’ spin-off looking at the terrible "toilets of the world".
The 46-year-old TV presenter – who hosts the BBC motoring show alongside Freddie Flintoff and Chris Harris – admitted the trio often find themselves in some grubby locations during their travels, and he joked an online special featuring the worst loos could be a bonus for fans.
He said: "Sometimes you go into the public toilets and you say, ‘That’s like ‘Trainspotting’. It’s got to be the worst toilet in the world.’
"Then you do another 10 miles and pull in somewhere else and go, ‘No, actually, this is the worst toilet in the world!’ We have seen some really bad toilets! We should do a little show on iPlayer about toilets of the world."
It appears the accommodation isn’t much better either, as Paddy admitted filming can be far removed from the luxury hotels viewers might expect.
He added: "It’s not what you think. A lot of the places we go are so far off the beaten track that it’s not like being a pampered Saturday night TV personality. It’s a bit of a shock."
While the toilet spin-off may not be too likely, Paddy has been trying to convince showrunner Clare Pizey to treat fans to unseen clips showing off the banter between the three presenters behind the scenes.
He explained: "I have been saying to the executive producer, Clare Pizey, that we should put stuff online that doesn’t make the show.
"There is so much that we do off-camera that might be a little too much for the episode, but if you put it on the iPlayer, people would probably watch it."
