The stars of ‘Top Gear’ have been put on a strict diet.
Matt LeBlanc, Rory Reid and Chris Harris have reportedly been told by show bosses that they must not "pile on the pounds" and they have been ordered to cut back on alcohol.
Of the show’s launch party, a source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Matt, Rory and Chris were steered away from the fancy cocktails, nibbles and pastries on offer at the event.
"They were telling people that they weren’t to pile on the pounds. They were able to tuck into the main meal, which was mostly greens and stuff, but not much else."
It comes after Matt revealed he was incredibly excited about fronting the new series but admits it is "tough" because he feels "everybody is waiting for you to put a foot wrong".
He said: "I’m excited. The show seems to be surrounded by huge controversy, and I don’t really know why. Maybe it’s because of the history of the show – but boy, being on that show is like being in a fish bowl.
"Everybody is after you. Everybody is waiting for you to put a foot wrong and that’s tough but, you know, I like cars. I know a little bit about cars. I can say some funny things about cars. Hopefully people will watch it."
The team began working on the new series shortly after the last series wrapped but things were up in the air for a short time after Chris Evans decided to leave the show.
Matt revealed: "When it comes to what will be different in the show, they are still working out the rough edges about what will change because Chris had creative control on the show before. I’m not really sure what’s going to happen. [Producer] Alex Renton is in charge now and he’s a very competent guy. He’s a very smart guy and I trust him. We’ll see how it goes."
