Tony Iommi to stop touring

Tony Iommi will stop touring after Black Sabbath’s ‘The End Tour’.
The 68-year-old guitarist has decided it’s finally time to give up travelling on the road with the band after being diagnosed with lymphoma cancer in 2013.
In an interview with The Sun newspaper, he said: "Flying around the world hasn’t really helped because it makes me very tired. I love doing these shows but I can’t take the travelling anymore."
The ‘War Pigs’ hitmaker – who is joined by Ozzy Osbourne and Geezer Butler in the band – has said that he wants to live a normal life and take it easy given his condition.
He said: "Since I was diagnosed, it’s affected everything. As far as touring is concerned, this is it for me. When we’ve finished, I want to take a break and live a bit of a life, hopefully."
Tony has also admitted that the heavy metal group’s gig in New Zealand in April took him 36 hours to get home from and that he was exhausted when he finally arrived back on home turf.
The ‘Paranoid’ guitarist – who is married to fellow musician Maria Sjoholm – said he is doing okay at the moment and that he has regular tests to monitor his lymphoma.
He said: "I am OK. I try to keep on top of it and go for tests every six weeks."
However, although he’s keen to step away from touring, Tony hasn’t ruled out doing the odd show occasionally.
He added: "We may do the odd one-off show."
Black Sabbath’s ‘The End Tour’ will conclude on December 4 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
