Tony Bellew found Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins ‘mentally taxing’

Tony Bellew had nightly sweats and was on edge for three weeks after he wrapped filming ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’.
The 37-year-old former boxing champ has opened up about how taxing he found Channel 4’s gruelling boot camp with former soldier Ant Middleton.
Tony told the Daily Star newspaper: "For three weeks after I finished the show, I was waking up in my bed in a pile of sweat.
"And at any hour of the morning, If I heard the slightest noise, I’d wake up and start looking for an exit point.
"This was in my own home! That’s how much this show got to me.
"Honest to God, it was f*****g heavy. The amount it got me was just mad."
The ‘Creed’ star – who appears on the show alongside the likes of Joey Essex and Brendan Cole – insisted the programme doesn’t show everything the celebrities go through.
He explained: "Viewers only see a very small snippet of what we actually went through.
"The footage doesn’t do the show justice with how hard it is.
"We endured sleep deprivation and we were constantly on edge.
"Day after day, that taxes you mentally. This series is going to show certain sides of me that I’m not happy about.
"It’s also going to show the things that have gone on in my life. But we’ll soon see if that’s for the better or the worse."
Tony’s experience mirrors that of Katie Price, who also took part in the current series, as she recently admitted it isn’t for the "faint-hearted".
Katie said: "It was scary. There was no place for egos or toilet breaks – this was full-on, nothing edited, gritty as it happened.
"They were, however, checking in on us all the time to ensure we were coping. This isn’t for the faint-hearted."
