Tom Hughes says the scenes he filmed with Jenna Coleman in ‘Victoria’ were "electric".
The 30-year-old actor – who portrays the brunette beauty’son-screen husband Prince Albert in the forthcoming miniseries – was full of praise for his co-star and how they were both able to bring out the "fiery" and "youthful" personalities of the late royal couple.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz, he said: "It’s hard to come into a show late, so you hope you come up opposite an actor who is amenable to you. You want someone who is alive and in the moment, when we did scenes together it felt electric.
"In this they are young, fiery, energetic people. To show their youthfulness in these people was really interesting and great to bring that life."
Meanwhile, the hunky thespian said that if the ITV period drama was based on his own diary it would be about the football team Manchester United.
He admitted: "If a show was based on my diary then it would all be about the Manchester United line-up of 2003, and why each player should play and what position they should play in."
Tom was thrilled to take on the challenge of portraying Prince Albert as he’s a massive fan of the story.
He added: "It’s very exciting you always want to play parts that are challenging, I think to be put in this position it shows a lot of faith from ITV. It’s a story that I love."
‘Victoria’ hits television screens on August 28 on ITV.
