Tom Hiddleston and Peter Capaldi to battle it out for TV Choice Awards Best Actor

Tom Hiddleston will battle it out with Peter Capaldi, Jim Carter, and Cillian Murphy in the Best Actor category at the 2016 TV Choice Awards.
The actor has been nominated for his role in ‘The Night Manager’ and the show has also been nominated for Best New Drama alongside ‘Doctor Foster’, ‘Marcella’ and ‘War & Peace’.
Laura Carmichael, Suranne Jones, Sarah Lancashire and Helen McCrory will contest the Best Actress category while ‘Downton Abbey’, ‘Happy Valley’, ‘Line Of Duty’ and ‘Peaky Blinders’ have been nominated for Best Drama Series.
Best Talent Show will be contested by Simon Cowell’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and ‘The X Factor’, ‘The Great British Bake Off’ and ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ with ‘Bear Grylls: Mission Survive’, ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ and ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ all up for Best Reality TV Show.
‘Coronation Street’, ‘EastEnders’, ‘Emmerdale’ and ‘Hollyoaks’ have all been nominated for Best Soap with ‘EastEnders’ actors Danny Dyer and Steve McFadden receiving nods for Best Soap Actor alongside ‘Emmerdale’s Danny Miller and ‘Coronation Street’s Jack P Shepherd.
Departing ‘Corrie’ star Paula Lane is up for Best Soap Actress alongside ‘Hollyoaks’ Jennifer Metcalfe, ‘Emmerdale’s Lucy Pargeter and ‘EastEnders’ Lacey Turner.
Gemma Atkinson will battle Shayne Ward, Riley Carter Millington and ‘Emmerdale’ co-star Liv Flaherty for the Best Soap Newcomer gong.
Over 200,000 TV Choice Magazine readers took part in the first round of voting for the awards, which will take place at London’s Dorchester Hotel on Monday September 5.
The ceremony will be hosted by Jo Brand for the second time and votes can be cast at the TV Choice Magazine website until Friday July 8.
Editor-in-Chief of TV Choice and Total TV Guide, Jon Peake said: "This will be our 20th awards ceremony, and we are thrilled by the support we’ve had over the years from Britain’s biggest stars.
