Tokio Myers says his life has been ‘turned on its head’

Tokio Myers says his life has been "flipped and turned on its head" since he won ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
The 34-year-old pianist – who won the ITV talent show in 2017 – has revealed that his life has been transformed by his triumph on the programme, which led to him releasing his debut solo album, ‘Our Generation’, in November last year.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the Classic BRIT Awards at the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday (14.06.18) – where he won the Breakthrough Artist of the Year accolade – Tokio admitted: "It’s been literally flipped and turned on its head and spun and shaken a little bit and then flung out into the open.
"That’s the best way I can put it and then once it’s there I’m kind of like enjoying that flowing fall right now."
Tokio is signed to Simon Cowell’s record label Syco, and he hailed the influence of his label after he won the award.
He said: "I want to thank my fans, I want to thank Syco, I want to thank my family, I want to thank the industry, and you know it’s been fun."
And Tokio gave a special thanks to Simon for helping to guide his career.
Of his relationship with the music mogul, he shared: "We chat every now and then and I make sure that you know we’re partners.
"We work together and he’s been so supportive of what I do and I’m looking forward to the second album we’re gonna make together."
Tokio was presented with his gong by ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge Amanda Holden, and he admitted it was a lovely moment for him.
The pianist said: "That was a beautiful moment and she said some really beautiful things reminding me of a few things as well.
"It just feels like home feels like family and she’s such a lovely woman and a friend as well."
