Tina Malone has signed up for ‘Celebs on the Farm’.
The former ‘Shameless’ star – who was given an eight-month suspended jail sentence and ordered to pay costs of £10,000 last year for sharing a Facebook post which allegedly revealed the new identity of Jon Venables, one of James Bulger’s killers – is hoping a stint on the Channel 5 reality show will help her make a comeback from her "catastrophic mistake".
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: "Tina made a catastrophic mistake but the call from ‘Celebs On The Farm’ came at just the right time and the payday could help her put this entire episode behind her.
"It’s worth tramping around in the mud for."
The show sees a group of stars learning the ropes as they stay on a farm and compete with each other – and the early starts – to be named the winner.
Tina is expected to join ‘Love Island’ beauty Hayley Hughes, ‘TOWIE’ star James Argent, ‘Benidorm’ actress Crissy Rock, boxer Charlie Edwards, model Caprice, ‘Ibiza Weekender’s David Potts, Paralympian Kadeena Cox, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Artem Chigvintsev and former footballer Paul Merson.
The programme was recommissioned back in March.
An insider said at the time: "Producers have really gone all out to secure some very exciting celebs.
"Some aren’t going to know what hit them when they have to do a few of the challenges. The series is definitely going to be bigger and better than last year for sure."
For the first series last year, ‘Dancing With The Stars’ pro Gleb Savchenko was crowned the champion ahead of the likes of ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Bobby Norris, Olympic athlete Ashley McKenzie, former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ housemate Megan McKenna and ‘Ex On the Beach’ beauty Charlotte Dawson.
