Tina Hobley has hinted that ‘The Jump’ has destroyed her sex life.
The 45-year-old actress was forced to pull out of the winter sports show early last year when she whizzed down a ski slope and injured herself after staff failed to secure the landing space, but she has admitted she hasn’t just had to deal with re-occurring injuries as her lack of mobility has affected her bedroom antics with her husband Oliver Wheeler as well and he’s barely had "anything" over the last year.
Asked if she’d ever use a sex robot during her appearance on ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (15.05.17), Tina said: "The year I’ve had, my poor husband hasn’t had much of anything. It’s been a tough year but I’m much much better than I was last year. I still have a long way to go. We thought it was just the arm at first but then I came back and had the scan and it was my shoulder and my knee. I’ve had three operations."
And it wasn’t just the injuries she sustained from the jump that has wreaked havoc for her as she also started to lose her hair due to an allergic reaction to the pain killers.
She said: "I’ve skied for about 30 years now. I’ve skied all my life almost so that’s why I really wanted to do it. I was just incredibly unlucky when they told me to jump, they hadn’t checked that it was clear for me to jump. But I had a terrible occurring injuries … I had to have three operations but they couldn’t be done at the same time so for about 18 months. For my kids it was hard. It was hard for them, there were really low times. I think the lowest was when I couldn’t brush my teeth. I was on big, strong, painkillers for about six months and then my hair started falling out. I was on Tramadol for six months and had a bad allergy to it where my hair started falling out. Then I had my knee done in September … they gave me a new knee basically."
The former ‘Holby City’ star’s children Isabella, 18, Olivia, nine, and Orson, seven, are now really concerned when she receives work offers from companies.
Tina added: "My little boy, every time he sees something on the TV, he said: ‘You’re not doing that are you?’ Thank God I’m doing radio and I’m loving that."
