Tilly Keeper: Steve McFadden is a ‘great mentor’

Tilly Keeper has praised Steve McFadden for being "such a great mentor" – but she won’t let him vet her potential boyfriends.
The ‘EastEnders’ actress – who plays Louise Mitchell on the BBC One soap – says her on-screen dad (Phil Mitchell) is "always giving advice out" when they are on set together, and 21-year-old star cannot stop laughing when she works with Steve and fellow soap stalwart Letitia Dean (Sharon Mitchell).
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Steve is such a great mentor and he’s so lovely. He’s always giving advice out.
"Whether it’s to do with work or whatever, and Letitia Dean is my favourite person on Earth.
"We laugh all the time. They both create such a nice atmosphere on set."
But unlike Louise and Phil, Tilly doesn’t have Steve giving her a hard-time over her potential love interests.
When asked if he vets her potential boyfriends, she replied: "My dad does that for him, so he doesn’t need to worry about that.
"As Louise, she has a tough time choosing boyfriends with Phil. But Steve’s nice."
Tilly has been a Walford regular since she joined the soap in 2016, and as well as her comical scenes, she loves playing a more aggressive side to her alter-ego.
Speaking at the Inside Soap Awards, she said: "She is feisty, she gets that from her dad. Everyone wants to play a bitch. It’s really fun and I like it because there’s always comedy with her."
‘EastEnders’ fans were left in shock this week when Louise was revealed as the person who has been secretly blackmailing Sharon following her affair with Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters).
