Holly Willoughby’s TRIC Award was lost by the ‘This Morning’ team.
The 37-year-old presenter won the coveted TV Personality of the Year accolade at Wednesday night’s (12.03.19) ceremony but had to miss the event as she had attended her grandmother’s funeral earlier that day.
Holly’s ‘This Morning’ co-host Philip Schofield revealed that their team couldn’t "actually find" the trophy after it was misplaced by Eamonn Holmes, who hosts the show with his wife Ruth Langsford, and the show’s editor Martin Frizell – and admitted that the last place it was seen was McDonald’s.
Speaking on Wednesday morning’s show (13.03.19), Philip confessed: "We can’t actually find the award … Now sources close to this show say that Eamonn gave the award to our editor Martin, he thought that our team had it – so if anyone has seen Holly’s TRIC Award pop it in the post. There’s a possibility the last time it was seen was in McDonald’s.
Holly added: "Now I’m assuming it’s got my name on it and it’s gold and it looks a bit like a giant bottle opener, it kind of looks like that so if you see anything like it. [return it] "
Holly later received an update on the whereabouts of the trophy, revealing: "Alice Beer has been in touch about the missing TRIC Award. Apparently Doctor Zoe has last been with seen it but also this has now come up. Doctor Ranj has it, it’s the doctors!"
Philip joked: "I’m shocked you’ve let us down, you’ve left yourselves down and you’ve left the award down."
Holly was forced to miss Tuesday morning’s episode of ‘This Morning’ with Rylan Clark-Neal taking her place on the sofa, as she was saying goodbye to her "beautiful Nan" but she returned to work on ‘Celebrity Juice’, hours after the event.
