The Verve vs The Rolling Stones

The Verve’s ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’ famously sampled The Rolling Stones’ ‘The Last Time’, which was released in 1965 by the Andrew Oldham Orchestra.
Sir Mick Jagger and Keith Richards co-wrote the song.
The ‘Satisfaction’ hitmakers’ manager Allen Klein claimed Richard Ashcroft’s group compromised an agreement made to only use five notes of the recording and cough up 50 per cent in royalties.
Klein’s ABKCO Records filed a plagiarism suit for Jagger and Richards.
It ended with The Verve having to pay ALL of the songwriting royalties and hand over publishing rights to ABKCO with the song have a credit to the pair.
