The Vaccines announce Australia Falls Festival shows

The Vaccines have announced two special Australia shows for Falls Festival.
The band will be playing at the Croxton Bandroom in Melbourne on January 3, followed by a gig at Sydney’s Metro Theatre the next night.
The exciting announcement comes after they performed an intimate secret show at Victoria Baths in Manchester for some very lucky fans.
Those lucky enough to get tickets to the ‘If You Wanna’ band’s Jack Daniel’s Presents… event on Thursday (20.09.18) weren’t told where the concert would be until the coaches transporting them arrived at the Grade 2 listed building.
After support act LUCIA warmed the small but energetic crowd up, the band took to the stage to the sound of ABBA’s ‘Dancing Queen’ before launching into a blistering hour-long set.
Kicking things off with ‘Nightclub’ and crowd pleaser ‘Wreckin’ Bar (Ra Ra Ra)’, the band kept it simple, bursting through the hits alongside material from their latest album ‘Combat Sports’.
Frontman Justin Hayward-Young controlled the crowd, occasionally breaking up the set to thank the fans and encourage sing-a-longs thanks to the "great acoustics" in the special venue.
After a set featuring the likes of ‘Your Love Is My Favourite Band’, ‘Norgaard’ and ‘Take It Easy’, the band – completed by Freddie Cowan, Árni Árnason, Timothy Lanham and Yoann Intonti – rounded off the show with ‘If You Wanna’, ‘I Can’t Quit’ and ‘All in White’.
The well-received live show was testament to their talents in such an environment, and guitarist Freddie Cowan admitted it’s vital to stay motivated.
He said recently: "I think I’ve been nonchalant a few times and it’s never served me well.
"What you’re doing on a daily basis might become a bit mundane, but your actual purpose for being there, to perform, you can never approach it with that casual attitude and get away with it.
"You’re filling the big boots of people alongside you, or that have performed before or after you. Nobody is that good, or that popular, that they can just not make an effort."
