The Steph Show halted filming over neighbours

Channel 4 suspended filming on Steph McGovern’s show after they "stretched" her neighbours’ patience.
The 37-year-old television presenter was due to begin filming her self-titled daytime programme from a studio in Leeds in April but the project was brought forward and began broadcasting from her living room at the end of March amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Now, the broadcaster has decided to stop filming all together after they have pushed the host’s neighbours to their limits and are planning to start up production again once the lockdown rules have been lifted.
Speaking during a controller session at the Edinburgh TV Festival, Channel 4’s Director of Programming Ian Katz said: "I am super proud we got it up and running, I can’t think of anyone else who could broadcast for six consecutive weeks live from their kitchen with a young baby, it’s phenomenal achievement.
"In the end I think we have stretched the patience of the neighbours a bit too far, so we have had to take it off for a while and our decision is just to say we want to wait now until we can get into the studio and produce the show we intended to produce."
The news comes after ‘The Steph McGovern Show’ presenter – who lives with her partner and their five-month-old daughter – gave an update of the programme’s status on Tuesday (28.04.20).
She tweeted: "As much as I’ve loved doing a lockdown show at home I never expected it to go on this long. We’ve decided it’s time to have a break and give my family our home back.The proper prog will be launching when the Leeds studio is sorted, I may still be wearing slippers Rolling on the floor laughing #TheStephShow"
She added: "The last locked down version of #TheStephShow will be next Thurs 7th May. Then the plan is to launch again at our fancy studios at Leeds Docks in a couple of months, once they’re safely up and running."
