The Royal Family out in full force on the first day of Royal Ascot

The Royal Family attended the first day of Royal Ascot on Tuesday (20.06.17).
Queen Elizabeth II was accompanied by her husband the Duke of Edinburgh, 96, as well as her children Prince Charles and Princess Anne at the annual racing event, which took place on one of Britain’s hottest days of the year in Ascot, England, yesterday.
The 91-year-old royal started the day with a minute’s silence to remember those who lost their lives or have been affected by the recent tragedies that have hit the nation in the past few months, including the Manchester terror attack, as well as the London Bridge massacre, and the huge blaze that hit Grenfell Tower last week, BBC News has reported.
Despite the scorching heat the royal family still put on a glamorous display in their formal attire, which saw Prince William adorn a fishtail suit, with a waistcoat, and top hat, whilst his wife the Duchess of Cambridge wowed crowds in an ivory-coloured Alexander McQueen lace dress, which was accessorised with a bespoke hat and nude court shoes to match her ensemble.
The brunette beauty pinned her long tresses up into a neat chignon bun.
However, the couple’s children three-year-old Prince George and two-year-old Princess Charlotte were not present at the event.
The Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall and her husband, the former England rugby sportsman Mike Tindall, were another pair who left their daughter Mia, three, at home whilst they attend the races.
Princess Beatrice and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex also made an appearance on the opening day.
The Royal Ascot is set to take place every day until it comes to a close on Saturday (24.06.17).
