The Missing to return for third series?

‘The Missing’ is set to return for a third series.
The dramatic thriller hasn’t yet left television screens as the finale is to air on Wednesday (30.11.16), but the show’s writers, brothers Harry and Jack Williams, are already thinking about the next installment and have admitted it’ll be completely different from the first and current batch of episodes.
Harry told the Daily Express newspaper when pressed on a third series: "It would have to be very different, but never say, never."
However, fans on the show may have to wait another two years before they see Detective Julien Baptiste (Tchéky Karyo) back on their screens as Harry and Jack are busy with other projects.
The brothers told the Sunday People newspaper: "We love Julien. We feel there’s more to say with him and more of his story to explore. We just don’t have an idea for a story we want to tell at this moment. We wouldn’t rule it out, but it’s not on the horizon any time soon."
The second series has been based on the disappearance of two girls; Alice Webster from a British army base in Germany, and French girl Sophie Giroux.
Fans were over the moon last week when they found out that after, seven weeks, Alice (Abigail Hardingham) was actually still alive and the series finale will see the truth finally uncovered as her parents, Sam (David Morrissey) and Gemma Webster (Keeley Hawes) join Julien Baptiste to find their daughter’s abductor.
Over the past seven episodes, fans have been left on tenterhooks but the show’s producer Willow Grylls is adamant all unanswered questions will be resolved before it wraps up.
She said: "All the questions that have been asked will be answered in the course of the show. That’s what we have been so incredibly careful of."
