The Jump axed?

‘The Jump’ has reportedly been axed.

The Channel 4 show has been heavily criticised after a number of its stars suffered injuries during the last series and ratings are said to have plummeted on the show.

A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "The feeling among the show team is that this has been the worst series yet. After so many injuries, the celebrities are terrified of everything – and then the viewer ratings have fallen off a massive cliff.

"Yes, there has been a lot of controversy about people getting injured, but that isn’t the problem. At the end of the day, this comes down to business. The show is just not pulling in the viewing figures to justify the huge amount being spent on it.

"On top of the celebrity fees and travel costs, there’s insurance, the medical team, the fees for hospital treatment. The list goes on. The bosses’ view is that it isn’t worth it for an audience of a few million."

Meanwhile, Beth Tweddle is making good process after breaking her back whilst competing on the show.

Her parents Ann and Jerry said previously: "Since her surgery, Beth has managed to walk a few steps whilst being assisted by the nursing team.

"She is still very tired from the operation but the medical team are pleased with the progress she is making. At the moment we aren’t certain of the timescale for her recovery. We are taking each day as it comes and will update you when there is further news."
