The popular baking show – which is co-hosted by Noel Fielding and programme newcomer Matt Lucas – only recently started filming following the coronavirus lockdown, but the official ‘Bake Off’ Twitter account has confirmed it has already finished shooting series 11.

She said: "It’s all happening in deep secret, somewhere in darkest deepest Britain in the shires.

"You will have your Victoria sponge this year."

The new series marks Matt’s debut as a presenter on the popular programme.

The ‘Little Britain’ co-creator joined the show after Sandi Toksvig decided to quit ‘Bake Off’ in order to focus on other projects.

The 62-year-old TV star explained: "When stepping down from a job it is quite common for people to say they are doing so in order to spend more time with their family.

"Unusually I am departing from ‘The Great British Bake Off’ so I can spend more time with my other work.
