‘The Great British Bake Off’ has wrapped filming the latest series.
The popular baking show – which is co-hosted by Noel Fielding and programme newcomer Matt Lucas – only recently started filming following the coronavirus lockdown, but the official ‘Bake Off’ Twitter account has confirmed it has already finished shooting series 11.
Alongside a behind-the-scenes photo of the ‘Bake Off’ set, the tweet read: "Filming has wrapped on the new series of The Great British Bake Off. More news soon… (sic)"
Last month, it was confirmed ‘Bake Off’ had resumed shooting ahead of a new series airing later this year.
Gary Davey – CEO of Sky Studios, the parent company of ‘Bake Off’ producer Love Productions – said filming was "going very well" on the show.He added: "As you can imagine, there was a lot of work collaboratively between Love Productions and our Covid protocols team just to get that right."
Sky Studios chief commercial officer Jane Millichip confirmed the show has moved to a more coronavirus-friendly location.
She said: "It’s all happening in deep secret, somewhere in darkest deepest Britain in the shires.
"You will have your Victoria sponge this year."
The new series marks Matt’s debut as a presenter on the popular programme.
The ‘Little Britain’ co-creator joined the show after Sandi Toksvig decided to quit ‘Bake Off’ in order to focus on other projects.
The 62-year-old TV star explained: "When stepping down from a job it is quite common for people to say they are doing so in order to spend more time with their family.
"Unusually I am departing from ‘The Great British Bake Off’ so I can spend more time with my other work.
"As my waistline will testify, ‘Bake Off’ is an all-consuming show."
